FootJoy Freestyle Preview: A Ribbeting Leap Forward in Golf Shoe Comfort and Stability

The Red-Eyed Tree Frog has been around for millions of years.  They're known best for their remarkable gripping power, exceptional balance, and distinctive colors.  And now this charming amphibian is the inspiration for FootJoys's new 2016 Freestyle golf shoes.

FootJoy claims the Freestyle is their most imaginative and mobile shoe ever, and will generate maximum power by providing greater freedom of movement through the swing.

Footjoy utilized a new construction method in designing the Freestyle, and extensive testing confirmed the traction and mobility benefits for both fast and slow swing speed golfers alike.

FreeStyle boasts F.R.O.G.S technology, a high-traction outsole design inspired by the Red-Eyed Tree Frog's suction-like footpads to deliver the ultimate traction in any weather and on any surface you find on a golf course.

The super flexible, softer feeling outsoles feature extra grips around the heel, front of the toe, and under the balls of the feet for dynamic traction.

Translucent Pulsar cleats and the Softspikes Tour Locksystem Enormous deliver exceptional grip and frog-like flex.

And the shoe's new fine tune foam cushioning (FTFTM 3.0) midsole provides greater flexibility and maximum freedom of movement.

The Freestyle will come in five different color combinations, with the navy/orange/lime version being the biggest head turner.  And will be available in standard and BOA Lace System version.

I'll have tons more for you from the PGA Merchandise Show down in Orlando later this month, including a full review after the Show wraps up.
