Pound Ridge Golf Club Wins Best Courses You Can Play in New York Honors

Pound Ridge Golf Club is a legendary Pete Dye modern marvel in Westchester County, and was recently honored in Golfweek Magazine's "Best Courses You Can Play in New York."

Coming in at No. 6 this year, this is Pound Ridge's 10th consecutive year in the top 10 in the golf-rich Empire State.  The bucolic layout is Dye's only New York creation and exemplifies his genius for creating exceptional shot values and a pure golf experience for players.  Pound Ridge was also ranked No. 6 on the coveted list last year.

Pound Ridge Golf Club Managing Director Darren Wang said,
"We're once again thrilled to be in the upper echelon of  best of the best courses in New York.  Dye created a masterpiece design here and we look forward to our guests enjoying one of the truly special golf experiences in the region."
Pound Ridge sits regally on 172 acres of pastoral Westchester County with dramatic rock outcroppings, streams and wooded, rolling hills converging to create an enjoyable and challenging par-72 course.

Five sets of tees range from 5,151 to 7,165 yards providing challenges for golfers of all skill levels.  Among its unforgettable holes is the dramatic par-5 13th which is home to "Pete’s Rock," a giant boulder that rests in the middle of the fairway.

Dye's signature design elements, dramatic mounding, rhythmic routing and subtle deception , are wonderfully displayed throughout the layout, creating a compelling and fair test of golf.

Pound Ridge recently announced it will host the 2020 Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) Public Links Championship.  To be played next summer on June 10, the tournament will mark the 73rd rendition of the prestigious MGA event which is the oldest public golf course championship in the U.S.
