This is the 45th U.S. Senior Open Championship. The inaugural U.S. Senior Open, played in 1980 at Winged Foot Golf Club, was conducted for golfers 55 and older. The next year, the USGA lowered the minimum age to 50 to coincide with the fledgling Senior Tour (now PGA Tour Champions).
Miller Barber captured the first of his three U.S. Senior Open titles in 1982 – he also won in 1984 and 1985. The U.S. Senior Open has six two-time champions: Gary Player (1987, 1988), Jack Nicklaus (1991, 1993), Hale Irwin (1998, 2000), Allen Doyle (2005, 2006), Kenny Perry (2013, 2017), and Bernhard Langer (2010, 2023). Doyle became the championship’s oldest winner in 2006 at the age of 57 years, 11 months, 14 days, until he was surpassed by Langer (65 years, 10 months, 6 days) in 2023.

With a bag full of Srixon and Cleveland Golf equipment, Bradley once again proved he is a clutch closer when it matters most.
From tee to green Bradley’s game was locked in, powered by the precision and control of his equipment. Facing pressure late Sunday, Bradley leaned on his Srixon ZX7 Mk II 9-Iron to deliver one of the tournament's biggest moments: a perfectly struck approach shot on the 18th hole that stopped five feet from the pin, setting up a birdie putt and sealing the outright win.
I feel an obligation to play for the people of New England and the Northeast and represent them. This is the best way I can do it. Of all the shots and all the putts I’ve hit, I think I’ll remember that one the most.Srixon Staffer, Keegan Bradley
Bradley’s victory builds on the consistent excellence he’s shown all season. Entering this week with four top-10 finishes, he finally broke through with a statement win at TPC River Highlands. Backed by his Srixon Tour-validated Irons and Cleveland Golf Wedges, he ranked inside the top 15 in greens in regulation, approach, around the greens, and strokes gained total.
This triumph caps off a dominant three-week run for Srixon and Cleveland Golf, with three consecutive victories by Srixon staffers – underscoring a landmark year for the brands.
Here’s a look at what Keegan Bradley used to earn his eighth PGA TOUR victory:
- Srixon ZX5 Mk II (3i-5i)
- Srixon ZX7 Mk II (6i-9i)
