The best compliment I can give to the new Stitch Golf SL2 Air Walker golf bag is probably also the simplest. It gives most golfers a little bit of pretty much everything they could want in a carry bag.
SL2 Air Walker is extremely lightweight. There's enough storage space to bring most things you'd usually bring to the course. The construction is durable and water resistant. Four full-length dividers makes pulling clubs Easy Peasy. And it's very stable on the ground when the legs spring open. And yup, for this DAY 2 Jingle BAM giveaway one of you can choose any SL2 Air Walker you want (it's available in three different colors).
Let's start with the weight. When I first picked up the Stitch SL2 Air Walker I honestly thought this was the lightest carry bag I've ever used. I was shocked to learn it weighs just over four pounds. Granted that weight still puts it in the lightweight category for carry bags. But I'm telling you honestly there's no way I'd have guessed four pounds.
SL2 Air Walker feels more like a typical Sunday bag that usually weighs in at the two-to-three pound range. Stitch is promoting SL2 Air Walker as "Light as a Feather." And it really has all kinds of lightweight feel.
Pocket space with the Stitch SL2 Air Walker has been increased an enormous 50-percent over the previous SL2 model. While there are still other bags on the market with more storage space, the five pockets with SL2 Air Walker will really satisfy most golfers needs.
Two pockets on either side can fit a rain jacket and rain pants, although probably not a lot more than that. You're not likely to fit golf shoes in either of these pockets but it's possible if the shoes are a knit more flexible kind of shoe. Still, with one pocket for your rain gear and another pocket with space to hold another rain gear outfit that's plenty of space to have available for whatever you want.
SL2 Air Walker also has an insulated beverage pocket that easily holds my 24 ounce water tumbler. And the front magnetic ball pocket is big. Really big. It's close to 12 inches deep, more than enough space for any number of balls you'd bring to the course. Again just Stitch giving you more room for any miscellaneous things you might bring for your next round.
The SL2 Air Walker four-way top (as mentioned above) just lets me slide my clubs in and out without any grief. The four dividers go down to what appears to be almost the bottom-most bottom of the bag, Grip ends of your clubs can move slightly into other areas but not anything resembling or causing tangle at the bottom.
Leg stability with SL2 Air Walker is fantastic. And in fact it's one of the strongest, tightest leg expansion mechanism of any bag I've used. Take both of your hands and gently tap them on a table or your thighs. Now more slap your hands on a table or thighs faster and more forcefully. That's kind of how the SL2 Air Walker legs open and close. Nothing weak or loose about them at all. Just very strong, very secure spring mechanism.
And lastly the carry is nice. Really nice. Obviously the lighter a bag is the more comfortable it should be in theory. And as mentioned the weight of SL2 Air Walker just feels like the lightest I've ever used. The shoulder straps seem more padded than what you get with many other carry bags. In fact the straps are still breaking in (bending to conform the shape of my shoulders) so there's definitely a good amount of padding resistant to bend and squash.
A textured side pad covers a large area so your back doesn't touch the bag at all when you double-strap carry. And the ridged texture to this area also help keep the bag in place so it's not moving and chafing your back. This material isn't as soft as the shoulder straps and I'd have liked to see it a tad softer, but really nitpicking there.
And there you have it. The new Stitch SL2 Air Walker carry bag doesn't give you the "absolute most" of everything. Are there lighter bags or bags with more storage space? Of course. But what SL2 Air Walker does give you is "more than enough" of everything to make it a truly unique carry bag that many players are going to even say is elite.
