The Motocaddy M7 Remote Electric Trolly has been a big part of my golf game going on three years now. Pretty much every time I have my M7 on the course someone comes up to me and wants to check it out. And we've had the M7 in my 12 Days of Christmas for the last three years. There are golf electric caddies. And there's the Motocaddy M7 Remote Electric Caddy. M7 is truly in a class of one.
The winner of my recent Motocaddy M7 Remote giveaway wrote up this review and not surprisingly, calls it "very well engineered, genuinely useful, and significantly easier and more fun than [just] carrying a bag or even pushing a regular cart." What is surprising however is how the winner Rich (@GolfAfter60 on X) hooked up with the golf community and PGA HOPE to really Let The Good Times Roll!
This is a Motocaddy M7 Remote review to be sure. But it's also a testament to the beauty of great people and great products making a difference.
In his own words, here's what Rich thinks about the Motocaddy M7 Remote Electric Caddy and also as wonderful a feel good story as you'll ever read.
The Test Driving the Motocaddy M7: A Golf Cart That Actually Delivers
I've always been a bit skeptical of gadgets that promise to make golf easier. Half the time they're solving problems you didn't know you had, and the other half they're creating new problems you definitely don't want. So when I had the chance to spend a round with the Motocaddy M7 electric golf cart, I wasn't sure what to expect.
But this wasn't just any ordinary product test. The M7 I was testing is used by PGA HOPE Ambassador Kevin Farrell, a retired Army veteran and friend. And there's a story behind how the program came to have this cart that makes this review a little more meaningful to me than your typical "does it work or doesn't it" writeup.
Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to win a Motocaddy M7 in Pete Pappas' 12 Days of Christmas giveaway. It was an incredibly generous prize, but as I stared at the box sitting in my garage through the long Ohio winter, I realized I probably wouldn't use an electric trolley as much as someone else might.
My wife suggested passing it along to a disabled veteran – brilliant idea, but how do you actually make that happen?
A quick reach-out to the Pete Pappas community connected me with PGA HOPE, an organization dedicated to changing and saving veterans' lives through golf.
Through them, I met Kevin, who thought he'd never golf again after a serious medical condition. The timing couldn't have been better – Kevin knew veterans who could walk 18 holes but couldn't carry clubs or push a cart. The M7 would be perfect.
So there I was today, meeting Kevin at his home course on a perfect 80-degree day without a cloud in the sky, ready to see how this thing actually performs in the real world. Kevin had recently hurt his knee, but watching him unload the folded M7 from his car, you'd never know it.
The cart is surprisingly compact when folded – takes up way less space than I expected and isn't nearly as heavy as it looks. Kevin had it unfolded and ready to go in just a few seconds. I loaded my golf bag onto it just like any other push cart (or "trolley" as they call them in Ireland), and off we went.
Or should I say, “off IT went”? The Motocaddy M7 is self-propelled and can be steered either by hand or by remote control. Yes, remote control.
I think Pete Pappas would be proud of how his generosity is still making a difference, one fairway at a time.
Absolutely fantastic review Rich. Reading along made me wish I was with you and Kevin and Jaxon! I loved hearing how much you and Kevin enjoyed the Motocaddy M7 Remote and it made me smile even more knowing Kevin and everyone at PGA HOPE have many great adventures with their M7 just waiting to happen.
As always if you win one of my giveaways and would like to write a guest review just let me know. It's not only the different and unique perspectives that make your reviews so enjoyable. It's also stories like this one that remind us that golf really is a lot like life. And as long as there are great people in this world great things will always happen. Cheers to more fun, more golf, and better golf for us all!
