MILESEEY GenePro G1 Touchscreen GPS Laser Rangefinder Review

Why choose features in a golf rangefinder when you can have them all?  That' pretty much sums up the new MILESEEY GenePro G1 GPS Laser Rangefinder and what it brings to the table.  The GenePro G1 measures everything.  It measures smarter.  And it might know the course you're playing even better than the groundskeepers.

The GenePro G1 is a laser rangefinder.  It's also a GPS device.  And its smart algorithms and integrated technology give you more intelligent golf distance information than a traditional laser rangefinder or GPS device alone.  Built in sensors factor in elevation, temperature, and humidity when calculating distances on all uphill and downhill shots.  And the big, bright AMOLED touchscreen overlays distances on course maps making data more contextually useful.

The MILESEEY GenePro G1 is engineered to lead, not follow.  And you're not just in the game using the GenePro G1, you're at the top of it.  You can read all about the G1 tech specs on MILESEEY's site here.  In this review I'm going to cover a few things about the G1 that truly make it an elite performing GPS Laser Rangefinder with top-tier precision.

Steady Hands Start with Comfort

The first moment you put the MILESEEY GenePro G1 in your hands you know it's a premium build rangefinder.  GenePro G1 is shaped like most rangefinders you've seen and used.  But for a Laser/GPS hybrid it's surprisingly not bulky and is extremely comfortable to hold.

GenePro G1 feels ergonomically refined, has a rubberized side and bottom for a secure grip, and really feels as smooth in your hand as your best swing on the course.  I would have added this same rubberized texture to the top of the G1 as well, but I'm just nitpicking here.  Overall G1 feels as good as it performs.

From Satellite to Flagstick

The MILESEEY GenePro G1 GPS is outstanding.  You have over 43,000 courses preloaded and as soon as you turn your GenePro G1 on it recognizes nearest courses to your location.  Of course I did my testing at Manakiki.  And from there it very quickly finds where you are on each hole and adjusts distances based on your location on the course.

GenePro G1 gives you up to date distances to the front, middle, and back of the green as well as to water hazards and bunkers all while showing the entire hole view.  I tested G1 accuracy against the premium GPS equipped in golf carts at Manakiki and the consistency and accuracy was spot on.  When I stopped at sprinkler heads that had yardages to the greens again the numbers were exact.  I'm talking dead-on distance accuracy for every shot.

Another cool feature of the GenePro G1 is the option to choose any lay-up yardage and shot you want.  All you do is tap on the touchscreen cursor and drag it to the corresponding location on the hole.  And this kind of strategy and detail lets you swing with complete confidence and trust your number absolutely.  The G1 is caddy IQ with GPS precision.

A Mini Movie Theater in Your Hand

You get big screen energy with the MILESEEY GenePro G1. At 2.13 inches it's the world's largest touchscreen on a golf rangefinder so you see more and miss nothing.  But the GenePro G1 screen is more than merely big.  It shows up and shows off.

The GenePro G1 touchscreen colors and contrast are vivid and pop off the screen.  Even in direct sunlight (see pic above) the clarity is exceptional and every command is responsive, giving you instant intel and yardages with zero lag and zero hesitation.  When you scroll through the menu, features, and settings it's effortless speed right from the start.

Laser Focus Meets Course Wide Precision

Seriously impressive doesn't even begin to cover how fast and accurate the MILESEEY GenePro G1 laser is.  It's mic-drop worthy.  MILESEEY says you can pick up targets in 0.1 seconds.  I just know if you blink you'll already have your yardage.  GenePro G1 also consistently gives you the exact same yardage readings if you decide to shoot the pin a few times just to confirm your numbers.  Ultimately G1 is quick on the trigger and precise on the pin.

Yardage readings with GenePro G1 also take into account slope, humidity, and temperature.  You can toggle the slope function on and off by rotating the red knob on the bottom of your G1.  Press the main top button to get your yardage and the number pops up immediately in a bright, clear red color and also vibrates to conform your target.  The buttons (by the way) are intuitive and easy to use.  The other two top buttons let you toggle between target modes (i.e., flag mode and ball to pin mode - more on that below).

I don't know what the GenePro G1 field of vision is but it locks on fast and sees forever.  You can shoot anything on the course within a 1,300 yard range and consistently get accurate readings within one-half yard.  Some other premium laser rangefinders on the market have 7X zoom compared to the 6X zoom you get with G1.  And higher zoom on laser rangefinders lets you stay steadier and more focused on targets, see flags more clearly (which leads to faster readings), and obviously makes the flag look bigger so it's easier to focus on pins rather than accidentally targeting background objects.  With all that said however I didn't once think to myself I wish G1 has more zoom.  G1 is quick-lock, long-distance, pure-precision awesomeness.

Trust the Triangle

Ball to Pin Mode is a fun one on those days when it's cart path only at your course.  Say you've hit a shot on the other side of the fairway and you don't want to bring two or three clubs with you not yet knowing what your distance is.  Your MILESEEY GenePro G1 lets target your ball from the cart path, and then target the flag from the cart path, and triangulates the actual distance from ball to hole.  It also lets you measure between any two points on the course from any location.

I tested GenePro G1 Ball to Pin Mode by shooting the ball and flag from the cart path and then moving to my actual ball location to shoot the flag.  And the distances I got with my G1 were within one yard every single time.  Measured.  Confirmed.  Nailed it.

Assorted GenePro G1 Goodness

MILESEEY says the GenePro G1 battery life is 24 hours and I believe it.  I used my G1 for two plus rounds before the battery dipped below 50-percent.  G1 is also waterproof.  I didn't use it in the rain but it has an IP65 rating which means it's protected in most rainy and foggy conditions.  And speaking of fog, G1 also has a Fog Mode that allows the laser and optics to work together and cut through fog for more accurate readings.

There is no magnet with G1 so be aware of that.  However it has what I believe to be the longest warranty in the golf rangefinder industry, a full 10-Year warranty.  That's going to be longer than many golf friendships we've had.  Suffice to say G1 is built to last and backed even longer.  And finally, you can download the MILESEEY App (at no extra cost and with no fees involved) to keep track of scoring, statistics, for different clubs and different shots.  It's very comprehensive and really decodes your rounds so you can see patterns and shape your game.  Every shot's remembered, even the ones you might want to forget.

Conclusion

From tee box to tap in the new MILESEEY GenePro G1 GPS Laser Rangefinder has you covered.  GenePro G1 is complete course intelligence and gives you everything you need to play smarter.  With G1 every shot and every distance is full confidence in one press of a button or one tap of a screen.

MILESEEY launched their GenePro G1 this summer and it was their first rangefinder in company history.  And I can tell you without hesitation if the golf rangefinder market was a pro sports league?  G1 was the 2025 Rookie of The Year and also earned All Pro honors.
