Phoenix Country Club to Host 50th Professional Event in Illustrious 125 Year Histkey

Phoenix Country Club will host the PGA TOUR Champions’ Charles Schwab Cup Championship Thursday – Sunday, November 7 – 10. The 2024 season-ending event will be the 50th professional golf tournament played at Phoenix Country Club in the historic venue’s 125-year history – more than any other golf facility in Arizona (TPC Scottsdale is number two with 36 events).

The Charles Schwab Cup Championship has been played at Phoenix Country Club since 2017 after relocating from Desert Mountain Country Club. In addition to the Schwab Cup, the venerable downtown Phoenix club hosted the Phoenix Open 42 times, including annually from 1932-1954 and 1972-1986, and every other year between 1956 and 1970. The PGA TOUR Champions announced last year that Phoenix Country Club will continue to host the Charles Schwab Cup Championship through 2032.

Golf course developer and construction company Landscapes Unlimited has completed major irrigation work at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey and Prairie Dunes Country Clubin Hutchinson, Kansas.

At Baltusrol, Landscapes Unlimited installed a Paul Roche of Golf Water-designed state-of-the-art irrigation system and power communication wiring for a new Precision Air system on the Upper Course.  Gil Hanse is the project architect. 

TGL Presented By SoFi Announces Inaugural Season Schedule

TGL presented by SoFi, the new tech- infused, team golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports in partnership with the PGA TOUR, today announced its inaugural season schedule, premiering Tuesday, Jan. 7 on ESPN and ESPN+. The schedule includes 15 regular season matches, then a four-team Semifinals, before culminating with the top two teams competing to win the SoFi Cup in a best-of-three Finals Series on Monday, March 24, and Tuesday, March 25.

Gamble Sands, the Top 100 golf resort located in Brewster, Wash., recently unveiled the name of its new 18-hole, David McLay Kidd-designed course. Scarecrow will open for public and resort-guest play on August 1, 2025, with tee times now available on www.GambleSands.com.

Located near the apple and cherry orchards of the Gebbers’ family farm (owners of Gamble Sands) and overlooking the Columbia River Valley, McLay Kidd and design associate Nick Schaan have transformed a twisted saddle of rolling terrain and river-view ridgeline into the second 18-hole golf course, creating what golfers will soon come to find as a counterpart yet contrasting experience to Gamble’s original and award-winning Sands course. Scarecrow will play to a par of 71 and stretch to 6,900 yards.
