Titleist Introduces New Golf Ball Fitting App

Titleist introduces the new Golf Ball Fitting App, a comprehensive and efficient way for golfers to find the best Titleist golf ball model for their game. The Trackman-compatible app combines individual golfer information with launch monitor data from 12 representative shots with a half-wedge, full-swing pitching wedge, 7-iron and driver with a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball (or a Pro V1 RCT golf ball for limited flight fittings). The result of each shot is fed into a proprietary algorithm developed by data gathered from thousands of Titleist golf ball fittings – ranging from those of Tour players and club professionals to dedicated amateurs – to deliver a Titleist golf ball recommendation.

“Our goal with the new fitting app is to make golf ball fitting more accessible and convenient,” said Jeremy Stone, Senior Vice President, Golf Ball Marketing and U.S. Sales. “Every day, we see the benefits of golfers finding the right flight, spin and feel for their games, but we also know that selecting the correct model can be difficult without the necessary information or the right process. The Titleist Golf Ball Fitting App gives us the scale to meet more golfers on the fitting tee and provide them an accurate golf ball recommendation that is unique to them.”

Vokey WedgeWorks Launches A+ Grind Lob Wedges

The new Vokey Design WedgeWorks A+ Grind – a mid-bounce lob wedge that produces a smooth, fast feel through the turf – is now available on Vokey.com. The wedge features a wide, contoured sole and is offered in 58- and 60-degree lofts.

The A+ Grind is closely related to the Vokey WedgeWorks A Grind. The A Grind was born out of the collaboration between Vokey Tour Representative Aaron Dill and U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy, who was looking for a wedge that moved through firm turf faster than his L Grind. Dill took Ogilvy’s feedback and removed the ribbon on the L grind, resulting in a smoothed-out sole that cut through the ground with less resistance.

Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, today released the results of MindSet testing with players from a wide range of handicaps. After being available at retail for just six months, Bridgestone conducted in-depth consumer testing to determine if players are saving meaningful strokes with MindSet and exactly how many. The impressive results indicate the vast majority of testers who used the TOUR B with MindSet and the MindSet process improved their scores significantly over the course of just five rounds.

MindSet is a visual technology appearing on Bridgestone’s TOUR B golf balls that is designed to help players separate analytical thoughts from athletic performance by way of an improved pre-shot routine and greater focus at address. Currently it is both the only printed ball technology aimed at lowering scores as well as the only gear in the golf category that addresses mental focus on the course. The outstanding results of the latest consumer MindSet testing are not surprising, as proprietary research done in conjunction with the Spring GPAU survey conducted by Golf Datatech, a Circana Company, indicates 74% of recreational players are interested in developing a new pre-shot routine to quiet their mind and hit more consistent shots.
