Callaway Golf Announces New 2025 CB 12 Wedges

Callaway Golf has announced their new 2025 CB 12 wedges. And these are going to be like cheat codes for golfers who play game-improvement irons and super game-improvement irons.

The new CB 12 wedges, like game-improvement and super game-improvement irons are easier to hit, have wider soles, incorporate Callaway R&D distance technologies, and everything is put together built around forgiveness.

Callaway identified that some players are playing Tour wedges that don't have any of the benefits mentioned above. So they designed these game-improvement wedges for game-improvement golfers who play cavity back irons.

The CB 12 name is derived from the 12 grams of perimeter weighting in the cavity but there’s also a lot more going on with these wedges.

12 grams of Perimeter Weighting

Moving the weight around in the top-line helps where the CG position is to create more spin and more forgiveness.

One of the things Callaway saw in testing was that with traditional gap wedges or sand wedges sometimes there’s a tendency to decelerate and hit shots a little toey.

The CB 12 wedges now help players where if they do catch shots off-center or slow down a little bit, they’re still getting that forgiveness from the perimeter weighting.

Opus Grooves

Another way Callaway generates extraordinary spin is with their latest groove pattern, which is currently on their Opus wedges.

It's a tighter pitch groove with a 37 degree wall angle and this creates more spin around the green. And for any shot from 15 to 50 yards this is going to help create even more spin.

Tri-Sole Design

Urethane Microspheres provide great feel on this new wedge so you’re not sacrificing feel for performance.

But as mentioned the CB 12 is all about forgiveness. And the Callaway Tri-Sole is extremely forgiving for players who typically hit behind the ball a little bit. The sole glides through the turf nice and easy, and you lose less ball speed on your shots when your sole glides through the turf.

For golfers who struggle out of bunkers, the Tri-Sole will also help with that as well. This wedge is giving you more bounce that allows you to have even more forgiveness.

Ultimately CB 12 incorporates feel technologies and spin technologies into a package of easy to hit wedge forgiveness that many players are looking for.
