JJ Spaun was four shots back at the turn on Sunday. He battled bad lies, a ricochet off the flagstick on No. 2, and major pressure. But while the rest of the field slipped, Spaun kept climbing.
Over the final seven holes, Spaun made more than 136 feet of putts with his LAB Golf DF3 putter including a curling 64-footer on the 72nd hole to seal his first major. And when the final putt dropped, he was the only player to finish the U.S. Open under par.
