Kelepouris, McBride, Morgan Share Round 3 Lead at U.S. Senior Women’s Open

The challenge of the weekend at a USGA championship is that it’s the weekend at a USGA championship. And that brings with it a special kind of pressure. 

On Saturday at San Diego Country Club Maria McBride, Becky Morgan and Corina Kelepouris all passed that test with flying colors. They now head to the final round of the 7th U.S. Senior Women’s Open co-leading by three strokes at 4-under-par 215.

Morgan Looks to Join History as U.S. Senior Women’s Open Enters Weekend

Outside the clubhouse at San Diego Country Club stands a statue of Mickey Wright, a former member here and a four-time winner of the U.S. Women’s Open. Annika Sorenstam Leads the Way at U.S. Senior Women’s Open

There was fire in the cleverly contoured greens of San Diego Country Club for Thursday’s first round of the 7th U.S. Senior Women’s Open. And no one handled the heat better than four-time USGA champion Annika Sorenstam, whose 3-under-par 70 put her atop the leader board.

Sorenstam, who won the 2021 U.S. Senior Women’s Open as well of the U.S. Women’s Open in 1995, ’96 and 2006, started the day on No. 1 and made the turn at 3 under par as she began the round with two birdies and bookended it with another on No. 9. As she headed to No. 10 tee she was the leader.

TGL Presented by SoFi Season Two Debuts with Finals Rematch

TGL presented by SoFi announced the broadcast network debut for the opening match of its second season as the defending champions Atlanta Drive GC take on New York Golf Club in a rematch of Season 1’s thrilling Finals on Sunday, December 28 at 3:00 p.m., ET on ABC. TGL is a partnership between TMRW Sports and the PGA TOUR.

RBC Extends Title Sponsorship of RBC Heritage and RBC Canadian Open

The PGA TOUR and RBC, in partnership with the Heritage Classic Foundation and Golf Canada, today announced a multi-year extension of the bank’s title sponsorship of the RBC Heritage and RBC Canadian Open. RBC is a long-standing supporter of golf at the professional and amateur levels and has been the title sponsor of the RBC Heritage and RBC Canadian Open since 2012 and 2008, respectively.

The 2026 RBC Heritage, a PGA TOUR Signature Event, begins Thursday, April 16 at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the 2026 RBC Canadian Open, Canada’s National Open, will return to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario, on Thursday, June 11.

Howell Dominant In Becoming Third-Youngest U.S. Amateur Champion

Mason Howell of Thomasville, Ga., took down Jackson “The Fridge” Herrington of Dickson, Tenn., to capture the 125th U.S. Amateur with a commanding 7-and-6 victory in Sunday’s 36-hole championship match at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco, Calif.

At 18 years, one month and three weeks old, Howell became the third-youngest player to ever hoist the Havemeyer Trophy, overtaking Tiger Woods, who won the first of his three when he was 18 years, seven months old, in 1994. 

Final Five Players Named to USA Walker Cup Team

Stewart Hagestad, 34, of Newport Beach, Calif.; Mason Howell, 18, of Thomasville, Ga.; Jacob Modleski, 20, of Noblesville, Ind.; Tommy Morrison, 21, of Dallas, Texas; and Jase Summy, 21 of Keller, Texas were named to the 2025 USA Walker Cup Team by the USGA’s International Team Selection (ITS) working group on Sunday night to complete the 10-player team.

The five players join Jackson Koivun, Ben James, Michael La Sasso, Ethan Fang and Preston Stout, all of whom were previously selected to the team. The USA Team will compete against Great Britain and Ireland in the 50th Walker Cup Match on Sept. 6-7 at Cypress Point Club, in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Teenagers Herrington and Howell Advance to U.S. Amateur Final

Youth was served on Saturday afternoon as Jackson Herrington, 19, of Dickson, Tenn., and Mason Howell, 18, of Thomasville, Ga., won their semifinal matches to set up a teenage head-to-head in Sunday’s 36-hole championship match at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco, Calif.  

Engulfed by both the foggiest conditions and the largest crowds of the week, Herrington, a rising sophomore at the University of Tennessee, took down hometown favorite Niall Shiels Donegan, 1 up, in one of the most dramatic matches of the week.
