2018 PGA Merchandise Show - Day 1 Recap Part 3 of 4: Titleist, Scotty Cameron, Vokey Wedges, and FootJoy

One of the largest areas on the PGA Show floor always belongs to Titleist, and you could spend a good portion of the day just looking at new Titleist gear to be honest.  This year the Titleist zone was absolutely packed, and for good reason.

From the new 917 D2 driver and AP3 irons to the SM7 wedges and Scotty Cameron putters, Titleist has put together one hell of a bag.  In my PGA Show Day 1 Recap Part 2 I showed you the latest from Devereaux, Under Armour, Peter Millar, Stitch, and New Balance.  I already gave you my hands-on impressions of the new Titleist line during Demo Day, so this section will consist mainly of more eye candy, and a few more looks at the new FootJoy Tour S shoes.

New Titleist bags and headcovers looked better than ever.  And one of the coolest scenes anywhere on the floor had to be the Justin Thomas ball exhibit.  Every Titleist ball Justin Thomas won with throughout his amateur and professional career was on display.  His 2013 NCAA Alabama Match Play victory ball,  2017 PGA Championship ball, and single round and lowest 36-hole scoring record 59 and 123 balls from the Sony Open were all there.

A five-year research process went into creating the new 917 D2 and D3 drivers, and the resulting benefits are significant to say the least.  SureFit CG adjustability technology offers up a high degree of ball flight customization, and the new Radial Face is their hottest face ever.  The D2 was flat out fun to hit and one of my favorite drivers from Demo Day.

I won't go into a lot of detail here about the new AP3 irons and SM7 wedges, other than to just remind you I wanted to bring them home with me at Demo Day.  Irons and wedges don't get much better.

A quick stop at the Scotty Cameron putter headcover display left me daydreaming about decorating every wall in my house with these beauties.  Of course when I came to the new Select and Futura putters themselves, I had similar fantasies.  These are quality designs that keep improving with time.  And of course I had to stop and say hi to the man himself and his 2018 Junkyard Dog.

The FootJoy Pro SL aren't new for 2018, but it's worth mentioning that more players in the top-100 wear the FootJoy Pro SL than any other other shoe or brand.  That's a graphic statement.  The main story with FootJoy's new Tour S shoes is stability.  The outsole and uppers were designed to create a high level of lateral stability, and FootJoy claims it's their most stable shoe ever.  I can attest to that, and equally important - they're also as comfortable as a walking shoe.
