Aldila ROGUE Black 130 Shaft Review: PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway BONUS GIVEAWAY

The Aldila name is one of the most iconic in all of golf.  And their Rogue line of shafts have won countless times on all professional Tours, including multiple major championships.  When you already design some of the best shafts in golf, there's usually not much room for wide-ranging innovation from one model to the next.  However the newest Aldila Rogue Black 130 takes the Rogue Black profile to even more revolutionary heights.

One of you will win a new raw, uncut Tour Issue Rogue Black 130 Shaft (choose TR 60, TS 60 or TX 70), and I'm going to hit on some of the differences between the old Rogue Black, as well as compare it to the new Rogue Silver 130 to help give you a better feel of some key performance characteristics.

What stands out most about Rogue Black (and even Rogue Silver I reviewed for you earlier) is how accurate these shafts are.  You've probably heard plenty of people over the years say Rogue Black is the most accurate shafts they've ever played.  Well guess what?  The new Rogue Black 130 uses an even stronger carbon fiber that makes dispersion and accuracy even better.

Now that's not to say Rogue Black 130 feels stiff and overwhelming.  In fact, it's quite the opposite.  The load and release is extremely smooth.  I'd even go so far as saying there's a buttery smooth, almost Mitsubishi Diamana Blue kind of feel to the Rogue Black 130.

Rogue Black 130 is a mid to mid-high launch shaft, with mid spin, and the most counterbalanced shaft in the Rogue 130 line up.  Black 130 has a softer tip than Silver, but there's a stability to it that allows you to work the ball in either direction without fear of losing it left or right.  It loads easier for smoother swings than Silver, yet stronger players with faster swing speeds won't need to hold off to avoid the left side or fear becoming hook machines.  You can go after it as hard as you want with Black 130.

Compared to Rogue Silver, Black 130 is livelier feeling.  But you still get a consistent one-piece full shaft load sensation like with Silver.  Black 130 is pretty much a smoother, more manageable shaft for players who don't need to take out the left side or want extreme spin reduction.

With the Rogue Black 130 you don't have to hit out of your shoes to make it work.  On the other hand, those of you who do hit out of your shoes will still find high level of comfort and movement control.  And for many golfers this means Rogue Black 130 will turn their drivers into all-time high confidence inspiring point-and-shoot clubs.

Just like with the daily gifts in my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway, you'll have three unique ways to win the Letters from Santa gifts.  On twitter just retweet my giveaway announcement and follow all; on Instagram like the post, Mention in Your Story, or Repost, and follow all; and here on my blog leave a comment in the section below in the daily review/giveaway/Letters from Santa articles.

These gifts are great prizes of course, but also some of the best equipment and gear in their class that I played and reviewed this season.  And I hope these mini reviews and recaps give you an idea of why I rate them so highly.

Merry Christmas everyone!
