Galvin Green Lake INTERFACE-1 (Limited Edition) Jacket Review: 2020 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway DAY 11

The Galvin Green name is synonymous with quality.  If you're looking at all-weather apparel, for rain, for wind, for cold and warm, Galvin Green is legendary for protection and comfort.  And the new Lake INTERFACE-1 Jacket lives up to their reputation delivering superior wind protection, breathability, and range of movement.  And while not insanely waterproof like their Gore-Tex pieces, Lake still repels water in steady showers to keep you dry through your entire round.

One of you is going to win your very own Lake Jacket, which is a Limited Edition by the way.  And you'll be able to choose whatever size you want (Lake is a proper fit, maybe a tad bigger than the Euro cut Galvin Green is also known for).  As we've been doing each day in my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway, I'll touch on some key points about the Lake for you, so you know more about what's coming in DAY 11.

Galvin Green's INTERFACE-1 line is renown for fantastic breathability and insulation (pretty much a warming effect), and the wind (and temperature) protection of Lake is just amazing.

In cold temps and strong winds the Lake jacket completely insulated me from the breeze and gusts.  The winds just don't penetrate the jacket and wind-chill is neutralized.  And in drizzle, off an on rain, and even everyday showers, Lake is water-repellant enough to keep you dry for a full round.

But it gets even better than that.  Lake also has a kind of thermal aspect to it (the jacket is constructed with an outer shell and inner lining) that pretty much regulates your body temperature.  In very cold temps I stayed warm without needing to layer up (just a long sleeve shirt underneath).  And in warmer temps I stayed cool, with incredible breathability.

Lake is also incredibly comfortable to wear.  It's extremely lightweight, like sheets of paper (which makes the windproof and breathability performance even more impressive to me).  There's no stretch to Lake, but it's cut in such a way that the craziest, wildest, most insane looking swings would have complete range of motion.  A lot of thought clearly went into the design to ensure it's efficient for your golf swing, whatever it looks like.

With a ribbed collar, hem, and cuffs to keep wind away everywhere, Lake has a bomber jacket appearance.  The two front side pockets are deep, with two more inner pockets for your valuables or whatever else you want.  I'm usually not a big fan of most camouflage, but Lake camo has an understated badass vibe about it that I totally dig.  I'd get this one in another color if they made it.

And that pretty much covers it about the new Lake jacket. To the point, it's everything you could possibly want in a windproof water repellant golf jacket and more.

Remember you have three different ways to win the daily gifts in my giveaway this year.  On twitter just retweet my giveaway announcement and follow all; on Instagram like the post, Mention in Your Story, or Repost, and follow all; and here on my blog leave a comment in the section below in the daily review/giveaway/Letters from Santa articles.

These gifts are great prizes of course, but also some of the best equipment and gear in their class that I played and reviewed this season.  And I hope these mini reviews and recaps give you an idea of why I rate them so highly.

Merry Christmas all!

  14. Sounds like an excellent jacket. I wouldn't be playing in downpours anyway, so this would be great for light rain that pops up during a round.
