Golf Pride Tour Velvet Align Grips and PRO ONLY Cord Putter Grip Review: 2020 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway DAY 4

It's won countless major championships.  It's the most popular model in their line-up.  And more than 80-percent of players on Tour use this brand, and aren't even under contract or endorsed to do so.

Of course I'm talking about Golf Pride grips and their Tour Velvet model.  These are grips that are exceptionally comfortable and perform dependably in both dry and wet conditions.  And one of you is going to win a Full Set of 13 Tour Velvet Align grips, and also the new PRO ONLY Cord putter grip in DAY 4 of my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway.

The Tour Velvet Align is all about non-slip traction above all else, and even in the worst weather these grips have proven to be completely trustworthy.  Rainy days, humid days, hot summer days it didn't matter.  Tour Velvet Align withstands all conditions with outstanding, reliable traction.

In terms of feel, they're not quite as soft as a CP2 Pro or Wrap and don't have the same feedback as a firmer cord grip.  But honestly there's still so much softness and feedback that I'd call this the finest grip in their blue-ribbon line.  It's a fantastic balance of comfort and and sensation, and probably one of the big reasons Tour Velvet are the go-to grips for an ultra-majority of players.

Align as you probably already know is that dedicated red strip that runs down the backside of the grip.  Golf Pride's incorporated Align into more models since it first debuted, and all my Golf Pride grips, from Tour Velvet to MMC have Align tech.  I'm a huge fan of this.

Reminder grips aren't a novel invention, they've been around for awhile.  But Golf Pride really nailed it with Align by making it subtle enough to feel the reminder where your fingers and hands should be, but not so pronounced that it feels awkward or changes the shape and feel of the grip.  In fact, it actually gives you a more consistent locked-in sensation compared to grips without Align.  Last time I'll say it I promise, I just freaking love Align grips.

The PRO ONLY Cord (Green Star) putter grip is a brushed cotton cord and for some it will be unlike any grip you've ever felt before.  It's a tacky feel without being sticky.  It's a soft feel but also still firm.  And the pistol-ish shape has a wide area on the butt end and more tapered area at the bottom.  All combined it gives you an incredibly connected feel to the putter.

PRO ONLY is very comfortable to hold and reminds me in looks and feel (somewhat) to the Scotty Cameron Baby T grips.  Thumbs and palm rest easily on the flatter top.  On the more rounded bottom the grip rests lightly in your fingers but still fills up your hand.  Again, that connected feel is simply extraordinary and I believe actually takes tension out of your entire body and stroke.  PRO ONLY is new, but as far as I'm concerned already in a legendary class of putter grips.

Remember you have three different ways to win the daily gifts in my giveaway this year.  On twitter just retweet my giveaway announcement and follow all; on Instagram like the post, Mention in your Story, or Repost, and follow all; and here on my blog leave a comment in the section below in the daily review/giveaway/Letters from Santa articles.

These gifts are great prizes of course, but also some of the best equipment and gear in their class that I played and reviewed this season.  And I hope these mini reviews and recaps give you an idea of why I rate them so highly.

Merry Christmas all!
