The Masters. Just two words, but thousands of emotions. Admiring CRU's Masters headcovers right out of the box I started to nostalgically drift off, and could almost smell the aroma of pine straw, see the explosions of azaleas. I even imagined driving up Magnolia Lane with legends of Masters past recounting stories of Amen Corner, Butler Cabin, and of course the iconic green jacket.
Masters yellow piping conjures up images of pin flags whipping in the wind near Rae's Creek. And the Awe-gusta inspired American flag celebrates of our united kinship for this first major of the season.
And then of course there's the #patience. CRU Golf worked closely with Rickie Fowler on this design, who will be using these exact headcovers this week.
In a very introspective move that shows Fowler viscerally appreciates the discipline required to win at Augusta, he requested the headcovers include the word "patience." And folks, that's just totally and completely awesome!
We might not ever play on the killing field of Augusta National with an opportunity to win that iconic green blazer. But in those pressure moments to win a club championship or even just a few Skins or Nassaus over the weekend against your buddy, peeling off a headcover with the reminder to be patient can be golden.
As you know I'm a big fan of CRU Golf headcovers. Their workmanship is extraordinary, and their materials are always top-notch. But these Masters headcovers make a definitive case for being CRU's best Major Collection headcovers to date. Their aesthetic appeal and superlative reverence for The Masters is flat-out stellar.
CRU's also designed a Masters inspired alignment cover this year that snugly fits over two sticks and just exudes swagger. Rolling up to the range for your next practice session with this baby might even bring you some good mojo.
Like the headcovers, they're designed with a nod to Masters green and yellow. And for those inevitably frustrating moments on the range, again that important reminder: "patience." The alignment covers are made from a plush, thick suede with an embroidered American flag elevated near the top.
CRU's Masters headcovers are only available for a limited time however, until the U.S. Open, and last year's CRU Masters headcovers sold out quickly. So don't say I didn't warn you.
