Callaway Golf Announces New Apex Ai150 Irons

Callaway has announced the new Apex Ai150 irons continuing the legacy of the Apex Ai200 and Ai300 released last year.

Apex Ai150 emphasizes an elevated look and feel, distance, and superior spin consistency blending premium materials and modern shaping.

Forged Material and Ai Smart Face

Apex Ai150 features a 1025 forged hollow-body design with a 455 face cup (3i–7i) and 17-4 face (8i-W) for improved ball speed and feel throughout.

It’s designed for golfers seeking enhanced distance control with players precision and control.

When Callaway launched the Apex Ai200 and Ai300 irons last year the Ai200 fit in that player's distance space for mid-handicap players and Ai300 for higher handicap players. But that left a gap in the Apex line for lower handicap players that was historically filled by the Apex Pro.

So the Apex Ai 150 really completes the franchise for Callaway giving them their fastest players iron ever. It’s an iron head shape that the single digit handicap players want and brings Ai Smart Face technology to all player looking for greater distance and consistency.

Ai Smart Face gives you an advantage where shots all over the face are going to have consistent carry, distance, and spin control. So whatever different types of lies you’re have on the course, whenever you can’t always get clean strikes on the ball, Ai Smart Face gives you Callaway’s best technology for a consistent outcome.

Shaping Inspiration

In the past when Callaway had Apex Pro models they used the core Apex irons (what would. be the Ai 200 currently) and made a smaller version of them. But for Apex Ai150 Callaway started with the Apex TCB, which has been a huge success for us on Tour and one of their most played Tour iron models anywhere.

Starting with a Tour validated iron that Callaway’s highest profile players have in their bags and then building it up from there to add more forgiveness is going to bring a lot of players into Apex Ai150.

Tri Sole

Tri Sole began a few years ago when the new X Forged irons were being designed. And since then it has made its way across Callaway’s entire iron lineup.

Tri Sole was developed working with Tour players, talking about turf interaction, and figuring out how to translate that into the core golf consumer and core market. Tri-Sole has a little leading-edge relief that's a feature to help players to get in and out of the turf without digging. And there’s also some bounce effect to ensure players also get through the turf efficiently.

Apex Ai150 irons are going to be precise. They’re going to have great distance gaps to help you hit your numbers. But you’re also getting precision without giving up distance.

455 Face

Apex Ai150 has a 455 Face in the long and mid irons and it’s one of Callaway’s best performing materials blending precision and distance without any sacrifice of either.

450 is a very strong material and through the use of Ai Optimization Callaway is also able to add high levels of consistency to its strength and speed properties.

When that’s partnered with a 1025 forged body you get Tour level softness to go along with Tour level consistency and maximum distance.

Apex Ai150 are available now for pre-order on the Callaway website.
