Before we get into the details on how to enter and what you can win, and even before I recap some highlights of the year for you like I do every year, first I want to say thank you.
You hear a lot about how this is a content driven business. And that's true, there's no two ways about it. But I go about every day of my work believing more than anything else that it's people driven. And more specifically, driven by you.
It's great fun for me to write a new Cobra driver review, or play and review a top-100 bucket list course like Shinnecock, or cover a Bryson DeChambeau breakthrough win at The Memorial. But the reason I do all that is because of you.
And it's always going to be just me, Pete. Just the guy who's job it is to know golf, play golf, cover golf and share what I know and learn with you like we're neighbors, family, school friends, or even just acquaintances who catch up every once in awhile.
I'm humbled and appreciative that you come to me and trust me for news and reviews on all things related to golf, and I can tell you 100-percent that means the absolute world to me. So I have to say again, thank you. All of you. It's been a fantastic year. And I'm planning on 2019 being even more extraordinary.
We're right around the corner from the PGA Merchandise Show, which is in January and as you know is always a non-stop marathon for me. I'm hitting just about every new club I can, taking copious review notes, and usually coming home sick as a dog. But it's all worth it because I know you appreciate the early feedback on what gear I think is worthy for you to check out for the new season.
I'm never going to be a mouthpiece for OEMs like some sites and reviewers clearly are. And that's why I'm selective on what new gear I review and what new gear I choose not to review. I'm also never going to throw down template of self-serving reviews like you see way too often all over the internet. And the reason is directly related to what I said earlier - this is all about my relationship with you above all else. You deserve the best, and that's always going to be my goal.
I'll be at a handful of Tour events in 2019 again. This season I probably had the most fun covering the RBC Heritage, U.S. Open, Memorial, and WGC-Bridgestone. And not coincidentally, I also played and reviewed these courses as well (although I still have to finish writing a few of the course reviews, I was able to bring you along through my twitter and Instagram pages).
One of the most fun days of the year for me was when I surprised you on twitter and invited three of you out to play historic Oakland Hills in early October. I had people from California to Florida, Canada and even Europe tell me they'd fly in to play this epic track. The three guys who I eventually picked had a great time, and it was a day we'll all never forget.
Reviewing historic tracks has become a thing for me now, and you can expect more of that next year, as well as a few more invites to join me on these legendary courses.
So with all that, let's get into this year's Christmas giveaway - five years running now and I've never been more excited about it. All the gear and equipment you'll win this year is gear and equipment you've seen me play, review, and test throughout the year - going back even to the PGA Merchandise Show. These are in my opinion, the best of the best.
Like it has been every year, this giveaway is open to everyone worldwide. Beginning December 14th, each evening at 7:45 we'll have a new giveaway. And this will run for 12 straight days. This year I'll have extra surprises for you with bonus gifts spread throughout. And I've recruited the help of two characters I'm sure you all know to help me out!
You can enter my Christmas giveaway three unique and different ways, and at least one winner will come from each of these entries.
On twitter, when you see my giveaway tweet, be sure you're following me and the company who made the gear/equipment I'm giving away, and just retweet the announcement.
On Instagram, when you see my giveaway post, be sure you're following me and the company who made the gear/equipment I'm giving away, and then just like the post and tag three friends.
Finally, you can enter by leaving a comment on my blog in the particular day's giveaway article - which will also be a gear/equipment review like it has been in past years to give you all the details and specifics about what made them and what makes them the best around.
Now for the actual gifts you're going to win this year, here's a list of the goodies in no particular order:

I hope you have a great Christmas and holiday season, and wishing everyone the absolute best for the upcoming year and beyond!
Cheers friends!
Pete

That's amazing again this year Pete, wether I win or not I'll be checking your Twitter account first thing in the morning, you're one in a million, the cost alone of shipping those prizes must be huge so kudos to you Pete and have a great Christmas, Padraig from Ireland😉

ReplyDeleteI only just stumbled across your blog and really enjoy the honesty and generosity of what you do. I must admit to being slightly jealous of your job aswell! I’m finding (as most do) the price of new equipment a tad troublesome so the odd chance to win something is greatly appreciated too. I don’t have any followers yet on twitter so if anyone wants to chat golf, give me a shout! Cheers! @fairlygolfer
ReplyDeleteThank you sir.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family!!
