Mitsubishi and Aldila Golf shafts have a fever. And the only prescription is more trophies.
Jon Rahm won the BMW Championship today last week using an Aldila Tour Green 75 shaft in his Taylormade driver, and an Aldila Tour Green 85 in his Taylormade 3 wood. Rahm averaged over 313 yards off the tee at difficult Olympia Fields, while also hitting almost 79-percent of the fairways.
Rory McIlroy switched to a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Orange 75 shaft for the second leg of the playoffs, and averaged 318 yards off the tee. For the event, Mitsubishi wons both the Driver and Total Shaft Count.
Meanwhile on the European Tour, Mitsubishi/Aldila won for the 8th consecutive week, as Rasmus Hojgaard won the ISPS UK Championship using Mitsubishi Tensei AV 65 in his Taylormade driver. Hojgaard averaged 310 yards off the tee (almost 17 yards longer than the field average).
Mitsubishi also won the Driver Shaft Count, and combined with Aldila had 74 driver shafts in play.
Dominant runs. They are rare. Every so often we see streaks of greatness. But it's sustained success that differentiates greatness from domination. And with each new victory Mitsubishi and Aldila pile up on the PGA and European Tours, they continue cementing their legacy as all-time dominant golf shafts.
