Odyssey Announces Transformative New Ai-ONE and Ai-ONE Milled Putters

Odyssey has been the Number 1 Putter on Tour for 13 years, the Number 1 Putter on the DP World Tour, Champions Tour, and LPGA Tour for 20 years, and Odyssey putters have compiled over 1,800 tournament wins since 2000.

And now Odyssey wants to unlock the next frontier of putting performance with the new Ai-ONE and Ai-ONE Milled putters.

All golfers (including the best players in the world) miss the center of face from time to time.  And when you lose speed relative to a center hit the ball doesn’t roll as far as you intended.  That means you miss more putts or leave them farther from the hole.

Odyssey has been researching and testing ways to deliver consistent speed no matter where you hit your ball on the face since 2019.  And by leveraging Callaway's industry leading Artificial Intelligence design and super-computing capabilities, Odyssey has created the most advanced insert with golf, with consistent ball speeds across the face.

Odyssey looked at all kinds of insert materials, different insert shapes, and different back contours.  Ultimately they came up with two lines of putters within the Ai-ONE putter line.  And robot testing has shown that misses towards the heel and toe as well as high and low are up to 21-percent closer to the hole with Ai-ONE putters than with traditional milled putters.

The new Ai-ONE Milled putter line used a milled titanium insert in a milled stainless steel head.  And the softer feeling (White Hot type) Ai-ONE putter line uses a urethane insert combined with an aluminum back section with contours molded to urethane.  Let's take a closer look at both models.

Ai-ONE Milled

These premium putters feature a 100-percent milled stainless steel body fit with a 100-percent milled titanium insert. The multi-material construction includes unique contours on the back of the face that minimize ball speed losses on off-center hits, and significantly increase the sweet spot.

With Ai-One Milled, putts finish closer to the hole on average than a traditional milled putter.  And these new models also deliver the premium look and feel that players expect with a level of insert performance that's unprecedented.

Features and Benefits

  • Ai-ONE Milled Insert

This milled titanium insert was designed using Artificial Intelligence to create the unique contours on the back surface. These contours help to maintain ball speed on off-center hits for better distance control across the face with pure milled feel that many golfers prefer.

  • Milled Stainless Steel Heads

All the heads in this line are 100-percent milled for the beauty and precision that the most discerning golfers appreciate.

  • Unique Navy Blue PVD Finish

These putters all feature a beautiful navy blue PVD finish that sets them apart, and complements the milling for a unique and beautiful look.

  • SL 90 Shaft

A lightweight steel shaft with 20-30 grams (depending on the grip) of counterbalance weight in the butt end. This is an evolution of our Stroke Lab Weighting that will appeal to even more golfers.

  • Interchangeable Front Weights

Available in 5, 10, 15 and 20 grams these removable weights allow you to dial in your head weight to your exact preference.

Ai-ONE Milled essentially takes all characteristics of a milled putter but combines that with the A.I. generated titanium insert for consistent ball speed across the face.

The Ai-ONE Milled lineup will include classic milled shapes ONE T and TWO T, a THREE T (similar to Toulon Atlanta in shape), a SIX T, a SEVEN T (Odyssey's most popular shape in both double bend and crank hosels), an EIGHT T, and ELEVEN T, and a Rossie.  Retail is $499.99 and available November 3rd.

All models come with the Stroke Lab SL 90 shafts.  SL90 are a lighter 95g steel shaft s (compared to the typical 115g or 120g putter shafts) which gives Odyssey the ability to put counter-balance in the butt end for more consistent strokes with this type of weighting.  Custom SL 70 shafts are also available (featuring the same structure and weight as the Stroke Lab Red shaft) at a lighter 70g weight.

Ai-ONE

The multi-material construction includes unique contours on the back of the face that minimize ball speed losses on off-center hits, and greatly increase the sweet spot.  Odyssey's revolutionary Ai-ONE urethane insert delivers more consistent ball speeds, even from off-center hits, leaving putts up to 21-percent closer to the hole.

To achieve this unmatched level of performance, Odyssey made the back of the insert out of aluminum and added a White Hot Urethane to the striking surface for the iconic White Hot feel that millions of golfers love.  These enhancements provide incredible feel, speed control, and consistency that you might say will change the face of putting.

Features and Benefits

  • Ai-ONE Insert

Designed using Artificial Intelligence, Odyssey created contours on the Aluminum backer of the insert to promote consistent ball speed across the face.  And then they co-molded a grooved White Hot urethane layer into that aluminum backer for the classic White Hot feel that Tour players and amateurs love.

  • Ai Window

Odyssey designers and engineers developed a Panlite window, which is a unique automotive grade polymer, that allows them to showcase the unique topology of the back of the insert.  Essentially it's visible technology, and it's pretty damn cool.

  • SL 90 Shaft

A lightweight steel shaft with 20-30 grams (depending on the grip) of counterbalance weight in the butt end.  This is an evolution of Odyssey's Stroke Lab Weighting that will appeal to even more golfers.

  • Unique Navy Blue PVD Finish

These putters all feature a beautiful navy blue PVD finish that really sets them apart and gives them a premium look.

  • Interchangeable Front Weights

Available in 5, 10, 15 and 20 grams these removable weights allow you to dial in your head weight to your exact preference.

Both Ai-ONE Milled and Ai-ONE inserts have tremendous performance benefits compared to a traditional milled putter face.  In a traditional milled putter the sweet spot is relatively small.  When you move away heel to toe, high or low speed drops off dramatically.  With the Ai-ONE Milled the sweet spot is significantly larger and as you get further from center strikes and ball speed is more consistent and speeds drop off more slowly.  And with the Ai-ONE you get an even larger sweet spot because the White Hot insert on its own provides some of that benefit and when combined with the A.I designed aluminum backing it's even more consistent.

The Ai-ONE lineup will include a November 3rd release of a No. 1, a Double Wide (double bend hosel), a Rossie S (like Jon Rahm uses), and a 7 S (crank hosel like Sam Burns uses).  Another February release will include a No. 2, a Double Wide (crank hosel), a Rossie (double bend), a No. 7 (double bend), a 2-Ball (double bend and crank hosels), and a Jailbird Mini (double bend and crank hosels).  Retail is $299.99.

All models come with the same Stroke Lab SL 90 shafts that come with the Ai-ONE Milled.  Custom SL 70 shafts are also available.

Odyssey will also be adding three Cruiser style models (which are quickly growing in popularity on Tour).  The models include a Double Wide, a No. 7, and a Jailbird.  All models will feature 38" shafts with 17" grips, heavier 380g heads, and heavier 140g shafts. a No, 7 Armlock and No. 7 Broomstick will also be available.

If you've paid attention to the professional golf the last few months you might have already seen the new Odyssey Ai-ONE putters in the bags of some of the best players in the world.  John Rahm switched.  LPGA World No. 1 Ruoning Yin switched.  And Sam Burns switched for the first time ever since turning professional in 2017.

One of the interesting things Odyssey did for John Rahm before he switched was take his putting statistics from the season and showing him how he would have done comparably with the new Ai-ONE insert putters.  The results were shocking.

Speed control is key to reducing three-putts.  And Rahm would have gone from 23 three-putts down to just 12 three-putts.  Rahm would also have gone from 23rd in SG: Putting to 9th in SG: Putting.

And that's not merely Tour validation.  It's Tour revolution.
