Unbelievably, it’s been 25 years since the golf world lost Payne Stewart, who was not only an outstanding golfer but an incredibly kind and giving person.
Stewart’s family, including wife Tracey, daughter Chelsea, and son Aaron, have been active in keeping his memory alive through the Payne Stewart Family Foundation, the Payne Stewart Award, children’s camps, golf ventures and most recently, the launch of The Payne Stewart Collection of apparel, designed to celebrate Payne’s style and flair.
To honor his memory and keep his spirit alive, the Stewart family and The Payne Stewart Collection are inviting friends, fans, and anyone who was inspired by Payne to share their memories of him on the Collection’s website in a special “Fist Pump Memory Book.” Fans may also post thoughts, memories, favorite photos or videos on their own social media platforms and tag @PayneStewartCollection. The Payne Stewart Collection will be randomly awarding $200 Payne Stewart Collection gift certificates to 25 recipients. Terms and conditions apply. Please see website for full details.
As Stewart’s dear friend David Feherty said, “Payne’s golf game was eclipsed by his style, flair, and ability to fully embrace life.” Stewart along with Robert Fraley, Van Ardan, Bruce Borland and pilots Michael Kling and Stephanie Bellegarrigue, tragically died on October 25, 1999, when the plane they were in lost cabin pressure and crashed in a pasture in South Dakota.
During the month of October, The Payne Stewart Collection will also be offering a 25% discount on all website merchandise in memory of Payne 25 years later. An additional portion of October Payne Stewart Collection sales will be donated to the Payne Stewart Family Foundation, which grants financial support to organizations that provide educational opportunities, sports programs, and similar activities to urban youth and other children in difficult circumstances.
