For the second time ever, Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club is hosting the PGA Championship, with the course that George Cobb designed hosting one of golf’s premier tournaments from May 15-18.
To get a sense of how expensive it is to attend the year’s second golf major (and a major golf betting event in North Carolina), BetCarolina.com broke down the numbers on how much it’d cost a local versus a visitor to make the trek to Quail Hollow for each of the four tournament rounds.

Regardless of where you’re coming from, it will cost a pretty penny to attend the 2025 PGA Championship in Charlotte. But, naturally, it’s less costly if you’re coming from within the Queen City region.

Our math shows that locals would spend between $1,502 (Sunday) and $2,054 (Friday) for four tickets, parking, extra concessions and merchandise at the event. The cheapest cost for those outside of the Charlotte region was $1,852 for four tickets and assorted travel costs, which include the added expense for staying overnight and traveling to Charlotte in the first place.
As for odds for this year’s PGA Championship, the team at DraftKings Sportsbook North Carolina has Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy as co-favorites at +500 each, as of May 6. That ranks ahead of defending PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele (+1100), Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm (+1200 each).
Breakdown of Attending Saturday (Round 3) Session
For those coming to Quail Hollow from out-of-town, the expense of attending the 2025 PGA Championship will add up quickly, with ticket prices being the same for a family of four on the day in question (Saturday’s third round) at $1,500 for four tickets.
Then you have to factor in the costs for parking ($50), extra concessions ($20) and merchandise ($320). The real difference is in accommodation costs, which averaged $300 for that Saturday in question.
Of course, North Carolina sports betting is available while you attend the tournament, even if you’re from outside the state, as long as you’re signed up with the sportsbook you want.

At Caesars NC Sportsbook, Thomas has +1200 odds to become a three-time PGA winner.
