Pinehurst No. 8 Re-Opens September 2nd after Agronomic Remastering

Pinehurst No. 8 will reopen Friday, Sept. 2nd, following agronomic and infrastructure enhancements highlighted by new TifEagle greens, fully restored bunkers with fresh sand, improved drainage throughout the course and the removal of invasive trees limiting views and inhibiting sunlight.

Additionally, the existing Bermudagrass turf on tees and fairways was “fraise” mowed to remove thatch throughout the course, tighten up lies and foster more rollout on tee shots. Fraise mowing is a highly disruptive mowing technique developed in the North Carolina Piedmont that effectively removes thatch, organic matter and soil from Bermudagrass in a single pass.

Garsen Putter Grips Now Available on Odyssey and Toulon Putters

Miami, Florida-Garsen Golf announces Garsen putter grips are now available on the Odyssey Golf website as a custom grip option for all Odyssey and Toulon putters. Customers will be able to choose from 3 Garsen grip options; The Max Black/White, The Quad Tour Tapered, and the Quad Tour Non Tapered when ordering a new Odyssey or Toulon putter.

The Garsen MAX is the most innovative and unique of all the models of grips in the lineup. By using a square grip with a 45% rotation, the “front” of the grip now becomes an angled area perfectly fitting the players’ grip and creating a much more biomechanically efficient position for the putting stroke. Unlike a traditional putter grip, the MAX places your hands in a position so the palms face each other and the wrists are in a neutral position. It turns your elbows into your body and sets your shoulders back leading to a more one-piece feeling stroke.
