Bobby Weed Golf Design is pleased to announce the successful completion of a three-year modernization project on the Championship Course at Grandfather Golf & Country Club.

Situated northeast of Asheville in a scenic valley between two mountain ridges, Grandfather’s Championship Course was designed by Ellis Maples in 1968 as one of America’s first true mountain courses. Maples later designed a second course on-site named Mountain Springs, which was constructed in 1977 to monetize the remaining real estate development inside the gates of Grandfather.

Dumbarnie Links History Dates to 1837 and The Hercules Club

Dumbarnie Links, a premier daily-fee links course located on the east coast of Scotland near St Andrews that opened for play in 2020, has a surprisingly rich golf history dating back to 1837. Details of the once famous Dumbarnie or Colinsburgh golf club have been recently unearthed.

The first ‘meeting’ occurred on November 9th, 1837 when the first competitive round in history records Mr. John Wood, a banker from Colinsburgh, winning in a playoff with Sir Ralph A. Anstruther Bart of Balcaskie, after both came in equal at 109 strokes.

Caledonia and True Blue Ranked among America’s Premier Resort Courses by Golfweek Magazine

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club, two of the most decorated courses in all of golf-rich South Carolina, have opened 2023 with another national honor.

The Mike Strantz designs earned a spot among “Golfweek’s Best 2023: Top 200 resort courses in the U.S.,” the magazine’s annual ranking of the nation’s premier destination layouts. Golfweek’s panel of experts evaluated courses from coast to coast and when the scores were tallied, Caledonia was ranked No. 49 and True Blue was No. 85.

Santa María Golf Club of Panamá to host 2024 Latin America Amateur Championship

The Masters Tournament, The R&A and the USGA today announced that the ninth edition of the Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) will be contested at Santa María Golf Club in Panamá City, Panamá, January 18-21, 2024. The LAAC will return to Panamá for the second time in the event’s history and make its debut at Santa María Golf Club.

2023 Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational to Feature Five AJGA Top-10 Ranked Players
