At 18 years, one month and three weeks old, Howell became the third-youngest player to ever hoist the Havemeyer Trophy, overtaking Tiger Woods, who won the first of his three when he was 18 years, seven months old, in 1994.

7th U.S. Senior Women’s Open Notebook and Storylines

This is the 7th U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship. The USGA announced the establishment of the championship on Feb. 6, 2015.

In 2018, World Golf Hall of Famer Laura Davies, of England, posted a 10-stroke victory over Juli Inkster en route to winning the inaugural title at historic Chicago Golf Club, in Wheaton, Ill. Helen Alfredsson, of Sweden, took home the trophy the following year at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, in Southern Pines, N.C., before the championship was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, three-time U.S. Women’s Open champion Annika Sorenstam, of Sweden, produced a wire-to-wire victory in her first year of eligibility at Brooklawn Country Club, in Fairfield, Conn.

Niall ‘Scenes’ Donegan: Hometown Hero Vaults into Semifinals

Niall Shiels Donegan, a Scottish-born resident of nearby Mill River and the local hometown favorite this week, outlasted world No. 15 Jacob Modleski in 19 holes to secure his spot in the semifinals of the 125th U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco, Calif.

“You’ve just got to stay so patient,” said Donegan, a rising junior at Northwestern University. “You can’t get ahead of yourself… one hole is its own event, and it’s just all about staying in the present, not thinking ahead.”

New Titleist T-Series T100, T150, T250, T350 Irons and U-505 and T250-U Utility Irons (2025) - Titleist Fitting Review

I recently went through a Titleist fitting for the new 2025 T-Series irons and utilities.  I hit every iron, the T100, T150, T250, and T350, as well as the U-505 and T250-U utilities.  And I can sum up the entire fitting by telling you this T-Series is Titleist's GOAT.  No exaggeration.

Something was legitimately improved in every model.  In some ways even significantly improved.  And more than any line in Titleist history all four iron models blend about as perfectly as possible for combo variations.  There's actually a fifth iron model as well - the T250 Launch Spec, but I didn't test that iron.  I'll let you know what my ultimate set wound up being at the end.

2025 Callaway X Forged Irons VS. X Forged Max Irons Review: 10 Things to Know

It's been about five years since Callaway Golf released an X Forged iron model.  And improvements to the 2025 X Forged irons make this legendary series better than ever before.  But Callaway also double-downed on X Forged with an entirely new model, the X Forged Max irons.  X Forged Max features the same one-piece 1020 carbon steel forged material but is designed in a players distance construction.

I hit the 2025 Callaway X Forged and X Forged Max irons at a Club Champion fitting a few weeks back and can tell you I was incredibly impressed with both models after just a few first swings.  I used the same Dynamic Gold MID 115 shafts in both irons for testing.  And there are some performance differences between the two models that I'm going to tell you about in this comparative review.

Preston Stout fired a championship-low round of 5-under 65 on Tuesday morning to help himself earn medalist honors at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif. The freshly-minted Walker Cupper paired his round today with a 3-under 68 on Monday to find himself atop the leader board.

Playing off the No. 1 tee on the Lake Course, the 21-year-old from Dallas, Texas navigated the toughest portion of the golf course and went out in 2-under, birdieing hole Nos. 7 and 9 before dropping a shot at the par-4 12th. With his head coach Alan Bratton on the bag, the Oklahoma State Cowboy quickly made up for it with a deuce on the ensuing par 3, before stringing together three more birdies on hole Nos. 15-17.
