PXG to Make First Ever Appearance at 2026 PGA Show

PXG has confirmed that it will exhibit for the first time at the 2026 PGA Show, Jan. 20-23, in Orlando, Florida. The move marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to engage more directly with PGA of America Golf Professionals, buyers, and industry partners.

“PXG has always carved its own path, but at the end of the day, this game doesn’t move forward without the professionals who teach it, fit it, and grow it,” said Bob Parsons, PXG Founder and CEO. “Being at the PGA Show is our way of showing up in service to them. We’re here to listen, to support, and to strengthen the relationships that matter most.”

NGF Short Game: Golf’s Private Side

Golf is predominantly a public game in the U.S., with nearly three-quarters of courses open to all and less than 8% of the golfer population being members at private clubs.

But that 8% packs a serious economic punch, as private club golfers – at least generally speaking — play and spend more on the game, are more likely to take instruction or travel for golf, and have a higher average household income.

When it was over, 2019 champion Ina Kim-Schadd, of Jupiter, Fla., had outlasted 2017 champion and two-time runner-up Kelsey Chugg, of Salt Lake City, Utah, for a 1-up victory.

“I knew it was going to be a good match, obviously, Kelsey is such a good player,” said Kim-Schaad, who works as a mental performance coach for Fearless Golf. “We were both joking before we were playing that it sucks to have to play your friend so early on, but at least we’re going to have a good time. Split Verdict: Jessica Spicer, Zhu Co-Medalists (141) on the Peninsula

The name of the game on Sunday was survival. After a flurry of early red numbers, Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Dunes Course showed its teeth, sending scores climbing as the day wore on.

Just two players managed to post rounds of 2-under 70 -- the day’s low score --and only eight competitors in the 132-player field finished under par in stroke play. On average, the course played more than a full stroke tougher than it did on Saturday.

Mid-Am Rookie Zhu (67) Leads at Monterey Peninsula C.C.

For Katherine Zhu, 25, of San Jose, Calif., this week has been circled on her calendar ever since she graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 2022.

After a standout amateur and collegiate career -- highlighted by one of the best freshman seasons in Cal history -- Zhu briefly tried professional golf before regaining her amateur status in 2023. After unsuccessfully making it to the LPGA Tour and anxiously waiting to turn 25 (she did in January), becoming eligible for mid-amateur golf quickly became a major milestone. The timing couldn’t have been better: in her very first year of eligibility, the 38th U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur was set to be played just 90 minutes from home at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, one of the most prestigious venues in the country.
