2025 Hero World Challenge Fields Six of the Top 10 Players in the World

Following the commitment deadline, the initial player field for the 2025 Hero World Challenge was announced today. Hosted by Tiger Woods, the 2025 edition of the tournament returns to Albany, Bahamas, December 4-7.

This year’s 20-player field features six of the top 10 players in the world (as of the eligibility date), including World No. 1-ranked Scottie Scheffler, the tournament’s two-time defending champion who won two of his four major championships in 2025. Scheffler is one of two past champions in the field, joined by 2016 champion Hideki Matsuyama.

The field features nine golfers who have combined to win 14 major championships. Eleven 2025 Ryder Cup participants, including Robert MacIntyre, Justin Rose and Sepp Straka from the victorious European Team, are in the field as is Team USA captain Keegan Bradley.

Two players – 2025 U.S. Open Champion J.J. Spaun and 2025 Genesis Scottish Open Champion Chris Gotterup – will make their Hero World Challenge debuts. The 2025 field represents golfers from six different countries (U.S., Scotland, England, Austria, Japan and Canada).

The remainder of the field will be announced at a later date.
