Troon, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage historic Reading Country Club, a daily-fee facility in Reading, Pa. Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee division of Troon will manage golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage as well as sales and marketing.
Chartered in 1922 and opened in 1923, Reading Country Club’s 18-hole, par-70 golf course was designed by Alexander Findlay. The 6,120-yard layout delivers a thrilling blend of playability and challenge, inviting golfers of all skill levels to test their game on a course that rewards strategy and precision. Reading Country Club has hosted golf royalty over its illustrious 102-year history, including Walter Hagen, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, Ben Hogan and LPGA legend, Betsy King. Nelson, in fact, served as the Club’s head professional from 1937 to 1939 and famously won the 1937 Masters and 1939 U.S. Open while representing Reading Country Club.
