Now that the nearly three-year-long road to qualifying for golfers has officially come to an end, attention now shifts to Kasumigaseki Country Club just outside of Tokyo where players will compete for their chance at history. Once we were renamed as the Official Uniform Provider for USA Golf, we began working with Tokyo-based artist Hiroko Takahashi on concepts for how the red, white and blue would show up in Tokyo. Takahashi’s designs are iconic and instantly recognizable through her use of minimal elements like circles and straight lines meant to represent infinite possibilities. While she has worked with us on designing products in other categories at our brand, designing these uniforms for golf was a first in her career.

This week at the PGA TOUR’s Travelers Championship, Titleist takes another step forward in the design, technology and performance of its next generation T-Series irons and U-Series utility iron.
Following a rigorous two-year development process, the new Titleist T100, T100•S and U•505 utility iron models are now available to PGA Tour players to use in competition, with the first opportunity coming on Thursday in Cromwell, Conn. The new T200 irons are expected join the family on tour in the coming weeks.

Golf Channel put up an intriguing graphic during its Friday telecast of the 121st U.S. Open Championship. When then-50-year-old Phil Mickelson produced his age-defying victory last month in the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course, he was No. 115 in the Official World Golf Ranking. This week, that spot in the world ranking is occupied by 48-year-old journeyman Richard Bland, who just happens to share the midway lead at Torrey Pines.

As first impressions go, the South Course at Torrey Pines Golf Course didn’t leave a positive one on Russell Henley. A first-round 79 in the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open – which also uses the North Course here – led to a missed cut and the Georgia native opting to omit the late-January event from his annual West Coast PGA Tour itinerary.
“I don't remember [much] besides leaving the course feeling like I just got beat up,” said Henley, a three-time PGA Tour winner.

The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced tee times for the first two rounds of the 2021 U.S. Open Championship, Thursday (June 17) and Friday (June 18), at 7,652-yard, par-71 Torrey Pines Golf Course (South Course), in San Diego, Calif.
The U.S. Open is a 72-hole, stroke-play competition. A field of 156 players will play 18 holes of stroke play on June 17 and 18, after which the field will be reduced to the low 60 scores and ties. Those players making the cut will play 18 holes on June 19 and 20. If there is a tie upon the completion of 72 holes, a two-hole aggregate playoff will immediately follow. If this playoff results in a tie, the tied players will immediately continue to play off hole-by-hole until the winner is determined.
