It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Katsuhiro Miura (1942 – 2025), founder of Miura Golf and a master craftsman of hand-forged irons known worldwide for their quality and performance.
Katsuhiro Miura was born October 24,1942 at Himeji, Japan, and at the early age of 16 began his career as a golf club craftsman. Miura founded Miura Manufacturing Co, Ltd. in February of 1977, and for 48 years earned the highest respect globally from professional and nonprofessional golfers alike. With innovative techniques adapting the “art of steel” from his historic surroundings, he became known for his exceptional mastery of forged irons, wedges and putters. Under the supervision of Miura’s sons, Shinei and Yoshitaka, Miura clubs are still designed and forged in the company’s factory in Himeji. Miura’s sons were recently joined by the founder’s grandson Kokuse, all of whom will preserve and enhance the legacy and commitment to excellence of Katsuhiro Miura for generations to come.
