The United States Golf Association (USGA), in partnership with Scioto Country Club, in Columbus, Ohio, is proud to unveil the official logo for the 46th U.S. Senior Open Championship. This marks the third time this revered championship returns to Scioto Country Club. The 2026 U.S. Senior Open will be played the week of June 29 - July 5, 2026, continuing the legacy of the most coveted championship in senior golf.
Bob Jones and Jack Nicklaus, two legends of the game, are tied to Scioto Country Club. Jones won the U.S. Open, one of his nine USGA championships, at the club in 1926, while Nicklaus honed his game there with teaching professional Jack Grout. Dale Douglass claimed the 1986 Senior Open at Scioto in his first year of eligibility, while Gene Sauers posted a one-stroke victory over Billy Mayfair and Miguel Angel JimĂ©nez in 2016 during the club’s centennial year. Bruce Fleisher edged Vinny Giles by one shot in the 1968 U.S. Amateur when it was a 72-hole, stroke-play championship.
Scioto will become the third club to host three U.S. Senior Opens. Saucon Valley Country Club, in Bethlehem, Pa., was a host site for a third time in 2022 and The Broadmoor’s East Course, in Colorado Springs, Colo., will host its third this summer.
The 2026 U.S. Senior Open Championship Logo: A logo more than a century in the making
The official logo of the 46th U.S. Senior Open Championship incorporates the arrowhead symbol of Scioto Country Club and the enduring legacy of the historic venue.
- The word Scioto is derived from the Wyandot word for “deer.” The Native American spelling translates roughly to “great legs,” so it was the name bestowed upon the 231-mile waterway that cuts through the central and southern part of Ohio.
- The Scioto Country Club logo pays tribute to the region’s Native American heritage.
- The logo has been the shape of an arrowhead since the Club’s inception in 1916.
