Bridgestone Golf star player Bryson DeChambeau captured his eighth PGA Tour victory on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. DeChambeau’s confidence in his Bridgestone TOUR B X golf ball powered him to a final round 71 and 11-under-par total that was marked by massive drives, dominating shots from the rough, and excellent play on and around the rock-hard greens.
“Innovation and technology are the hallmarks of Bridgestone Golf,” said Dan Murphy, company President and CEO. “This is why Bryson and Bridgestone go so well together. His analytical approach to both his gear and technique are equally innovative and exciting.”
Throughout the week the reigning US Open champion used his unique power game off the tee and from the rough to best the stacked field at Bay Hill. DeChambeau’s advantage was no more evident than it was on the par-5 sixth hole, where in consecutive rounds he launched drives with his Bridgestone TOUR B X golf ball of 370- and 377-yards, both times leaving less than 100 yards to the hole. Fittingly, on his very last tee shot of the tournament, the 8-time Tour winner nailed the longest drive of the tournament on the 18th hole, allowing him to hit yet another green in regulation and two-putt for the win.
“Bryson is the most exciting player in the game today, you can feel the electricity when he walks on the tee,” added Murphy. “We’re very pleased he’s committed to helping Bridgestone develop superior products and we look forward to working with him for the foreseeable future.”
The 3-piece TOUR B X golf ball used by DeChambeau to capture the prestigious Arnold Palmer Invitational title features Bridgestone’s game-changing REACTIV cover technology, which allows for maximum speed and distance on long shots and superior spin and control and short shots.
