SIK Golf DW 2.0 Putter Review - PGAPappas Giveaway Guest Review

Guest review coming in hot!  This one's from John on twitter and the SIK Golf putter he won in my Letters from Santa giveaway in my 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway.  And sounds like he's found himself one of those rare forever kind of clubs.

John's put some good time in with his new SIK Golf DW 2.0 C-Series putter now, and says he was "blown away," and this putter probably "has the best roll and feel of any putter" he's ever used.

Here's John (@Just_Hacking on twitter) in his own words talking all about his new SIK Golf DW 2.0 C-Series putter.

I was the very lucky winner of a custom Sik putter in the PGAPappas 12 Day of Christmas Giveaway.  I ordered the Sik Double Wide 2.0 in a matte black finish with a matte black stepless shaft.  The grip is a Jumbo Max 12 in black/silver/gray.

I got the putter in hand around the beginning of March and finally put it into play after about a week of having it so I have had it for about a month now.  The first time out with it I didn’t have time to roll it on the practice putting green so it was thrown into action without any quality time with it yet.

My first visual impression of the putter was, "Dang, this thing is sharp looking!!!"  And my playing partners thought the same thing.  There may have been some jealousy amongst the fellas.

My initial impressions of the physical elements of the putter were that it was lighter than I expected.  And I have to say that it concerned me.  I was used to a putter with a bit more weight to it.  I was concerned that it was just going to be too light for my taste. That concern was vanquished though after just a few holes of play.

It did take a few rolls to dial in how firm I needed to hit it, but that is the case with almost any putter.  And I really liked the way the ball sounds at impact.  It is a pretty muted sound and is soft off the face, but the feedback I get is probably the best I have experienced with a putter.  I knew immediately where I struck if it is anywhere off center.

When the contact was more towards the toe or the heel it was immediately known, but that didn't affect the roll of the ball at all it seems.   Even on those mishits it stayed pretty close to the intended target line.   It's extremely consistent even on mishits.

I was blown away at how well the balls rolled even on some greens that are not the best condition wise.  This Sik putter provides probably the best roll and feel of any putter I have ever used and I have some pretty awesome putters.

The one thing that took a bit of getting used to is that to my eye the putter face looked a bit closed for some reason so early on I was pulling my putts a bit.  After using it awhile however, now it doesn't look that way at all to me.  It may have to do with the more upright lie angle, but I am not sure if that is the reason or not.

I think that the most positive thing I can say is that the Sik putter knocked the putter I was using firmly out of the bag and that is a testament to how good it is.  The Sik is gonna be in my bag for quite some time!!!

And oh yeah, one of my playing partners liked my Sik putter so much he went out and bought one for himself.  Not much higher praise than that!!

And there you have it, John freaking loves his new SIK Golf DW 2.0 C-Series putter.

As you know my giveaways are based on products, equipment, and gear I review throughout the year that stands out for me as something really special.  And when you guys also write reviews on what you've won I absolutely love that.

Guest reviews make everything more fun for us all.  And the different perspectives and opinions and personalities is just another way for us all to connect even more, which is what it's all about for me.  Anytime any of you who wins something from me wants to write a guest review just lemme know!  And cheers to a great 2022 season for us all!

  2. Great to hear about your experience, John - thanks for sharing your review. I was wondering about the softness of the face given the milling, but you got that covered.
