My PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas a few months back was utterly insane. We had more participation than ever before, more prizes than ever before, more excitement and yup also more winners than ever. As a lot of you said, it was "straight Kringlemania!"
And another really cool thing about the 12 Days is how many of the winners want to write guest reviews. It's absolutely phenomenal to hear all of you so excited and sharing your opinions and personalities in these guest reviews. And the first guest review of the year comes from Ed Settle (@Ed_Settle) on X on his new Odyssey Ai One Milled One T putter.
Ed's what you'd call a putter aficionado and says, "it's fascinating how well it works."
In how own words, here's Ed's review of his new Ai One Milled ONE T putter.
I was fortunate enough to win an Odyssey Ai Milled One T putter during the @PGAPappas Jingle BAM/Release the Kringle Christmas Extravaganza. Again, a big “Thank You” to both Pete and Odyssey.
I received my putter today. I can see why this was probably an extension of the Toulon line. It feels very close to being totally milled. Not just the insert, but the whole putter feels very much like one piece if that makes sense.
The “big tuna” milling in the insert is one that has been used on quite a few Toulon small batch putters. So, it looks and feels to me like a Toulon.
Odyssey makes and sells a lot of putters. But they don’t feel mass produced. And I don’t think that is easy to do. Anyone can make a putter. The hard part is to make a putter that is more than the sum of its parts; where the head, shaft and grip complement each other.
That is difference between a good putter and a great one. There is a reason Odyssey is the #1 Putter on Tour.
This putter checks all the buttons for me. The finish, and the attention to detail, is exactly what I’ve come to expect. Gorgeous pearl blue finish.
The One T has the alignment line on the top line of the putter. The gold accents of the head and insert are even carried over onto the grip and head cover. As has been said about Toulon before this, no detail is overlooked. Everything is a conscious decision and done to perfection.
Now on to the Ai part of the tech. It is fascinating how well it works. Since it is snowing and temperatures are headed to negative numbers, I have only used it indoors.
I have a 9-foot putting mat. But even on heel or toe strikes, the strike seems to make less effect. It is not online, but still ends up near the hole. Something that I felt was going to be 3 or 4 inches short, still gets almost to the hole. Kind of odd the first couple times it happened.
I am expecting when I get outside and I’m putting from 20 feet, that a putt I think will be 2 to 3 feet short will end up much closer to the hole. So, I think it will make you change your expectations. Which I think ultimately builds confidence. And we can all use more of that when we putt.
Obviously, it will take better weather, so I can get outside and putt on real greens, but the initial results are exciting!
Thanks Ed! Some great, insightful impressions on your new Odyssey Ai One Milled ONE T putter. Excited to hear how it plays for you throughout the season. Did you know it was Bobby Locke who coined the phrase "drive for how, putt for dough?" I've got a good feeling you're gong to be ramming home a lot more of those 20 footers in 2024 baby!
Guest reviews will continue fast and furious all year round. And anytime any of you want to write a guest review about something you've won, just shoot me a DM or email and we'll get it done.
Loving absolutely everything about these. All our different personalities, all our different opinions. And of course all of us having a lot more fun on the course as well.
Cheers all!
