Galvin Green Highlights Progress in Sustainable Golf Wear

Leading high-tech golf apparel brand Galvin Green is marking its latest progress on the topic of sustainability to help shape a greener and brighter future for the game as the third edition of Sustainable Golf Week gets underway.

Having become an Innovation Partner to the GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf almost three years ago, Galvin Green has stepped up its market leading efforts on sustainability in the golf apparel sector by mapping out garment components to provide more transparency across the supply chain, expanding its list of nominated suppliers, as well as implementing key UN Global Goals – all of which are outlined in the brand’s latest Sustainability Review.

The 43-page document, published in June, reports how the brand constantly measures its responsibility across six different categories – company, sourcing, products, technology, relationship, and the future. It also showcases the brand’s relentless pursuit of producing the most functional, long-lasting, and stylish garments using sample-tested, bluesign® or Oeko-Tex® Standard 100-approved fabrics.

“It’s fantastic to look back at our achievements so far on sustainability, while also looking ahead to ensure every department is geared up to drive our progress to even greater heights in future,” said Galvin Green ESG/Compliance Supervisor Alicia Jonsson. “Our commitment to make premium golf garments that stand the test of time remains at the forefront of our business and we pay great attention to the ever-changing regulations and laws to stay compliant in the field of sustainability,” he added.

Remaining alert to any potentially harmful chemicals used in the production process, Galvin Green recently introduced the PFAS free Pertex® Shield Stretch fabric in its award-winning DRYVR™ waterproof collection in the form of the AMES and AMY jackets and matching ALAN and ANGIE pants for men and women golfers respectively.

The responsibly sourced Pertex® Shield Stretch garments have an advanced hydrophilic PU membrane, designed to attract, and retain water molecules due to the membrane’s ‘water-loving’ nature. The 3-layer fabric is softer and stretchier and creates a superior next-to-skin comfort with a ‘slide’n’glide’ effect to reduce friction with garments worn underneath. The 100% waterproof Pertex® fabrics are bluesign® approved and also PFAS-free, making them an environmentally friendly choice for golfers to wear, use and rely on for many years.

The brand’s ‘Never Compromise’ approach to constantly push boundaries ensures golfers can play in comfort whatever the weather, knowing that the garments are responsibly manufactured and offer unrivalled performance benefits for many years.
