Nicklaus Companies is pleased to congratulate Jack Nicklaus™brand ambassador Neal Shipley, who captured his second professional victory on Sunday by coming from behind to edge out Jorge Fernández Valdés and Kevin Dougherty for a one-stroke victory at The Ascendant.
Outfitted in Jack Nicklaus Apparel, the 24-year-old Shipley is winning in style. The former Ohio State Buckeye earned his first victory on the Korn Ferry Tour this past April by sinking a 38-foot birdie putt to defeat Seungtaek Lee on the fifth playoff hole of the LECOM Suncoast Classic. With this latest victory Shipley has cracked the top 100 in the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time in his career, currently sitting at No. 94.
Shipley, who also notably won both the Masters and U.S. Open low amateur titles in 2024, is now up to 4th place on the Korn Ferry Tour points list. The top 20 players in points at the end of the season earn a PGA Tour card for the following year. Shipley could also earn an immediate promotion to the PGA Tour with another victory this season via the Korn Ferry Tour’s Three-Victory Promotion.
