Chris Gotterup earned his second career PGA Tour victory last week at the Genesis Scottish Open and joins The PGAPappas Podcast to talk about battling Rory McIlroy and Wyndham Clark in the high-stakes final group on Sunday.
Chris joins the pod from home where's he's charging up for a run in the FedExCup playoffs next week. Chris and I talk about why his win at the Scottish Open was so emotional, what it was like to play with two major champions in the final grouping, how he was able to continue his great play the following week at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, and the reasons he's now playing at his highest level since earning his Tour card in 2024.
Chris is highly competitive and motivated to be the best player and person he can be. And at the same time he's extremely humble, unpretentious, and truly one of the good guys.
You can subscribe, follow, and listen to Episode 6 of The PGAPappas Podcast here on Apple Podcasts and also on Spotify.
Chris and I also dive into why and how his game has leveled up, equipment changes he's made over the last year (he's a tinkerer with a lot of clubs in his garage), the Ryder Cup (and what Captain Keegan Bradley told him recently), and a whole lot more including answers to a few questions some of you wrote in for him on social media. Chris is quickly becoming one of the Tour's rising stars. And he's also one of the most likable people you'll encounter both inside and outside of the golf world.
