Situated northeast of Asheville in a scenic valley between two mountain ridges, Grandfather’s Championship Course was designed by Ellis Maples in 1968 as one of America’s first true mountain courses. Maples later designed a second course on-site named Mountain Springs, which was constructed in 1977 to monetize the remaining real estate development inside the gates of Grandfather.
Dumbarnie Links, a premier daily-fee links course located on the east coast of Scotland near St Andrews that opened for play in 2020, has a surprisingly rich golf history dating back to 1837. Details of the once famous Dumbarnie or Colinsburgh golf club have been recently unearthed.

The Masters Tournament, The R&A and the USGA today announced that the ninth edition of the Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) will be contested at Santa María Golf Club in Panamá City, Panamá, January 18-21, 2024. Custom golf club fitter Club Champion and their Canadian counterpart, Tour Experience Golf (TXG), announce the opening of a new fitting studio, located at 7005B 6th Street SE Calgary, Alberta. The Plantation Course at Kapalua will celebrate 25 years of hosting the PGA TOUR’s Sentry Tournament of Champions when the star-studded event returns to Maui, January 4-8, 2023. Since the event moved to Maui in 1999, the Sentry Tournament of Champions has generated more than $8 million for local community charities, while the list of past champions includes Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk and Ernie Els.
The iconic Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design first opened for play in 1992. Designed on a grand scale, the 7,596-yard, par 73 Plantation Course plays along the slopes of the West Maui Mountains boasting dramatic ocean views from virtually every hole. In 1999, the PGA TOUR relocated the Tournament of Champions from La Costa Country Club near San Diego, Calif. to Maui. David Duval won the inaugural Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course, shooting a 26-under (266).
NBC Sports will present more than 450 hours of live PGA TOUR coverage across NBC, GOLF Channel and Peacock in 2023, beginning with the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii on Jan. 5-8 through the conclusion of the TOUR Championship on Aug. 24-27.

LIV Golf has announced three new championship venues that will host tournaments as part of the 2023 LIV Golf League schedule. Edel Golf is announcing the opening of its new Headquarters, Assembly and Fitting Facility in Denver, Colorado. This move is part of a company expansion that will allow Edel to continue its growth worldwide.
