Galvin Green Majors on Sustainability at the 2023 PGA Show

Galvin Green, the pioneer of premium apparel to protect serious golfers from extreme weather and enhance performance levels with complementary multi-layer clothing, has announced that it will be exhibiting at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in January (25-27th) with its largest ever range of 100% sustainable garments.

Winner of the 2021 Sports Technology Award for Sustainability in Sport, the brand will showcase its comprehensive collection of eco-friendly outerwear, mid-layers, shirts and accessories on booth #7253 in the Apparel Pavilion at the Orange County Convention Centre.

From long-lasting and consistently reliable GORE-TEX rainwear to colorful stylish polo shirts that offer outstanding moisture-wicking properties and comfort, Galvin Green will illustrate its holistic approach to sustainability. Based in Europe’s greenest city of Växjö in southern Sweden, it uses cutting edge technologies to create garments that maximize the golfer’s performance, while minimizing impact on the environment.

“We’ll be majoring on our strong sustainability credentials now that 80% of next year’s collection is fully sustainable, something that no other leading brand can match across such a comprehensive wardrobe for men, women and junior golfers,” said Lou Delfino, General Manager of Galvin Green in North America. “Individual rival lines may be profiled as being eco-friendly, but almost the entire Galvin Green collection can be attributed to fabric sourced from suppliers with globally recognised sustainability certification. This focus on sustainable products has accelerated since we launched into the U.S. market in 2015, so retailers should take a good look at what we can offer them and their customers as sustainability grows as a key purchasing factor,” he added.

Research conducted by Galvin Green earlier this year found that over two-thirds of American golfers now regard sustainability as an important issue in golf and lifespan of garments viewed as the prime factor. Nearly 75% believe it has become imperative for apparel brands to increase the volume of sustainable garments on offer, with almost half claiming they’d spend up to 50% more for a product from a brand with proven sustainability credentials.

Among the garments to feature prominently at the show will be the ARMSTRONG jacket and ARTHUR matching pants in Bluesign® approved GORE-TEX stretch fabric; the windproof and versatile LAWRENCE INTERFACE-1™ half zip jacket ; the eco generation, award-winning INSULA™ range of warming mid-layers made from 100% recycled plastic bottles; and the extremely breathable Quickdry MATEUS VENTIL8™ PLUS polo shirt with stretch fabric and UV protection 20+ that meets stringent OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification levels down to every thread and button.
