USGA Announces Qualifying Sites for 122nd U.S. Open Championship at The Country Club

The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced local and final qualifying sites for the 122nd U.S. Open Championship. The U.S. Open will be contested at The Country Club (Championship Course), in Brookline, Mass., for the fourth time from June 16-19, 2022.

Local qualifying, conducted over 18 holes at 109 sites in 44 U.S. states and Canada, will take place between April 25-May 23. Those players who advance out of local qualifying will join a group of locally exempt players in final qualifying, which will be conducted over 36 holes. The final stage will be held in Japan and Canada as well as nine U.S. sites on May 23 and June 6.

Four Championship Golf Courses Await as Walt Disney World Resort Turns 50

Walt Disney World Resort, a business founded by Walt Disney in Orlando in April 1971 that features theme parks, hotel lodging, cruises, timeshare, guided tours, travel packages and licensing, is celebrating its first 50 years with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” – where visitors can celebrate its past, present, and future!

While developing the original Walt Disney World Resort concept, Walt Disney sketched a plan for his vision for EPCOT – an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. On the first drawing – to the right of the property’s central hub with space devoted to the Magic Kingdom Park, resort hotels, convention facilities, and man-made lakes – Disney identified a large area designated for “golf.”

The Home Course Will Host 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship

The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced that The Home Course, in DuPont, Wash., will host the 8th U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship. The dates of the championship are May 13-17, 2023.

This will be the second USGA championship to be held at The Home Course, which hosted the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links. The course also served as the stroke-play co-host for the 2010 U.S. Amateur and 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, each of which was contested at Chambers Bay. The U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship returns to the Pacific Northwest for the first time since the inaugural event was played in 2015 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, in Bandon, Ore.

Reynolds Lake Oconee to Host Top Men and Women Collegiate Golfers

Reynolds Lake Oconee will serve as the epicenter for top collegiate golfers during the next four weeks as it plays host to women’s and men’s intercollegiate golf tournaments, including the 17th annual Linger Longer Invitational (LLI) next month.

Hosted by Mercer University, the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational — set for Friday, Feb. 18 to Sunday, Feb. 20 — will attract some of the country’s top women college players. Other highly ranked programs include East Tennessee State, defending champion North Florida, Chattanooga and Wisconsin.
