PGA Tour 2K23 Brings Players More Golf and More Game

2K announced PGA TOUR® 2K23, the latest entry in the golf simulation video game franchise from HB Studios, is now available worldwide on PlayStation®5 (PS5™), PlayStation®4 (PS4™), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam. Featuring PGA TOUR icon and all-time sports great Tiger Woods as cover athlete, PGA TOUR 2K23 celebrates Woods’ legacy by introducing him as both a playable in-game pro and an Executive Director advising the game’s development team.

Fred Couples and Lexi Thompson Capture a Pair of Fitting Wins with Bridgestone Golf

It was a winning weekend for Bridgestone Golf, as both Fred Couples and Lexi Thompson came up with impressive victories playing the TOUR B golf balls that fit their game. In Freddie’s case it was the TOUR B RXS that got the job done, while Lexi played the TOUR B RX. Each player took advantage of Bridgestone Golf’s innovative technologies to get fit for their respective model, proving once again the critical nature of playing the right ball for your game.

Fred grabbed the 14th PGA Tour Champions win of his career at the SAS Championship at Prestonwood CC, finishing things off with an incredible round of twelve-under-par 60 for a twenty-under-par total. The dominant six stroke victory featured twelve birdies in the final round including five straight on the front nine. On the back nine Fred was even more amazing, making seven birdies in-a-row including one on the closing hole.

Canterbury Golf Club to Host Three USGA Amateur Championships

The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced on Monday that Canterbury Golf Club, in Cleveland, Ohio, will be the host site for the 2027 U.S. Girls’ Junior, 2033 U.S. Senior Amateur and 2039 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships. The club has previously hosted five USGA championships, including two U.S. Opens.

“We are thrilled to return to Canterbury Golf Club to conduct these three USGA championships,” said Mark Hill, USGA senior managing director, championships. “The USGA is excited to restore our relationship with this historic club and its enthusiastic golf community on such a fantastic layout. We know the club and its membership will provide an exceptional experience for our players as they compete for these coveted titles.”

Driver Shaft Double for Fujikura Golf on the PGA and Champions Tour

Fujikura, the leader in performance golf shafts, was honored to be the number one driver, wood and hybrid shaft on the PGA Tour last week. Along with another driver shaft win on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour.

At the Shriner’s Children Open in Las Vegas, Fujikura was the #1 driver, wood, and hybrid shaft. Over 32.6% of the field used a Fujikura driver shaft at TPC Summerlin, with another 30.2% in the wood shaft count. Fujikura finished the week as the number one in the hybrid count as well, with 27.3% of the field using a Fujikura hybrid shaft during the tournament.

USGA Awards 25 Chapter Grants to Celebrate First Tee's 25th Anniversary

Commemorating a 25-year partnership with a focus on growing the game, the USGA has continued its investment in First Tee by awarding IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility) grants to 25 chapters across America.

The USGA’s IDEA Grant Program delivers direct funding to community-based programs that break down barriers to participation in golf and First Tee’s character-building programs, improving pathways to inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility. In 2022, 25 chapters — from Massachusetts to California — were awarded up to $25,000 each to provide transportation, hire diverse coaches, train volunteers and build programs in diverse communities, among other activities.

World No. 1 Jin Young Ko, defending champion and Bradenton resident Nelly Korda, sister Jessica Korda, and fan favorites/major champions Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko, Brittany Lincicome and Lexi Thompson headline a stacked field of early commitments for the 2022 Pelican Women’s Championship presented by Konica Minolta and Raymond James.

The final full-field event of the 2022 LPGA Tour season, The Pelican Women’s Championship, will take place Nov. 7-13 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla, where the world’s top professional golfers will compete for a share of the $2 million purse.

Cobra PUMA Golf Returns to the 2023 PGA Show

COBRA PUMA GOLF has announced plans to exhibit at the 2023 PGA Show, Jan. 24-27, in Orlando, Fla.

COBRA GOLF and PUMA GOLF will showcase their complete product lines in two new anchor exhibits on the PGA Show Floor.  COBRA GOLF also will offer product testing during the event’s outdoor Demo & Fitting Day (Jan. 24 at the Orange County National Golf Center) and indoors within their interactive Show Floor experience (Jan. 25-27 in the Orange County Convention Center). PUMA GOLF will share their newest collections with buyers in a new separate exhibit in the apparel section of the Show Floor and participate in the annual live Fashion Show.

True Spec Chicago North Shore Opens at The Golf Practice

True Spec Golf, the global leader in custom club fitting and club building, has announced they have partnered with The Golf Practice, one of Chicago’s premier golf academies. Streamsong Golf Resort Announces New Streamsong Golf Academy

Streamsong Golf Resort is pleased to announce the newest experience for guests looking to improve their game with the advent of the  “Streamsong Golf Academy.” The three-day sessions will include twelve hours of hands-on instruction, three rounds of golf on Streamsong’s award-winning courses, breakfast and lunch each day, a three or four-night stay at the Streamsong Lodge, and two custom-fit wedges.

Each session will be limited to 16 people to keep the instruction personalized and the student-to-teacher ratio at four to one. Valencia Country Club Renovation Restores Course to Original Glory

Valencia Country Club—a private membership club owned and operated by Arcis Golf and located north of Los Angeles in the Santa Clarita Valley—has re-opened its golf course following an extensive seven-month renovation.

The course, which opened in 1965, was originally designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. and the recent renovation restores the layout’s classic design features. The LA Open (now The Genesis Open) was held at Valencia Country Club in 1998 and 1999.

USGA Opens Nominations for 2023 Bob Jones Award

El Caballero Country Club to Host 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior

The United States Golf Association (USGA) has selected El Caballero Country Club, in Tarzana, Calif., as the host site of the 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior. The 75th edition of the championship will take place from July 15-20.

“The USGA is excited to return to El Caballero Country Club and continue the legacy of hosting the U.S. Girls’ Junior at some of the country’s finest golf courses,” said Tracy Parsons, championship director. “The support from the El Caballero membership has been incredible and we look forward to continuing to build USGA history here.”
