2023 Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational to Feature Five AJGA Top-10 Ranked Players

The ANNIKA Foundation – golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam’s charitable organization – will welcome five of the AJGA’s Top-10 players to Orlando’s Eagle Creek Golf Club from January 14-17 for the Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex.

The AJGA’s No.1-ranked player, Gianna Clemente from Estero, Florida, headlines one of the tournament’s strongest fields in its 15-year history. Other top-10 players scheduled to compete are defending champion and No.3-ranked Yanna Wilson (Henderson, Nevada), No. 4 Rianne Malixi (San Bernardino, California), sixth-ranked and 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion Anna Davis (Spring Valley, California) and No. 10 Alice Ziyi Zhao (Irvine, California). All told, the 72-player field features three former ANNIKA Invitational champions (Wilson, Avery Zweig and Francesca Fiorellini), 30 Rolex Junior All-Americans and 50 past AJGA champions.

Winged Foot Golf Club Selected to Host 2028 U.S. Open

The USGA today announced that Winged Foot Golf Club (West Course), in Mamaroneck, N.Y., has been selected as the host site for the 2028 U.S. Open Championship.

“Winged Foot has provided the backdrop for some of the most dramatic moments in the history of our sport, with many of golf’s legendary champions being crowned on the club’s iconic West Course,” said John Bodenhamer, USGA chief championships officer. “We strive to provide players with the greatest stages on which to compete for a national championship, and there are few stages as grand as Winged Foot.”

Tom Doak to Design Pinehurst Resort 10th Course

Pinehurst Resort will break ground on its first new golf course in nearly three decades this month, and it will be designed by Tom Doak, one of the most respected and decorated golf course architects of the modern era.

Located four miles south of the main resort clubhouse, Doak’s 18-hole routing is expected to open late spring of 2024, coinciding with the return of the U.S. Open to Pinehurst No. 2. The new course – the resort’s 10th – will incorporate rugged dunes mined at the turn of the 20th century accented by native sand and wiregrass. With natural ridgelines, intriguing landforms, towering longleaf pines, streams and ponds, Doak envisions a course that complements the resort’s other courses through its contrasts.

Kapalua Golf Celebrating 25 Years of Hosting the PGA Tour Sentry Tournament of Champions

The Plantation Course at Kapalua will celebrate 25 years of hosting the PGA TOUR’s Sentry Tournament of Champions when the star-studded event returns to Maui, January 4-8, 2023. Since the event moved to Maui in 1999, the Sentry Tournament of Champions has generated more than $8 million for local community charities, while the list of past champions includes Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk and Ernie Els.

The iconic Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design first opened for play in 1992. Designed on a grand scale, the 7,596-yard, par 73 Plantation Course plays along the slopes of the West Maui Mountains boasting dramatic ocean views from virtually every hole. In 1999, the PGA TOUR relocated the Tournament of Champions from La Costa Country Club near San Diego, Calif. to Maui. David Duval won the inaugural Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course, shooting a 26-under (266).

NBC Sports Announces 2023 PGA Tour Broadcast Schedule

NBC Sports will present more than 450 hours of live PGA TOUR coverage across NBC, GOLF Channel and Peacock in 2023, beginning with the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii on Jan. 5-8 through the conclusion of the TOUR Championship on Aug. 24-27.

GOLF Channel will provide early-round and lead-in weekend coverage of every FedExCup event and will carry four-round coverage for five events. All coverage airing on NBC and GOLF Channel will stream live on Peacock and NBC Sports digital platforms.

Mizuno Excited to Return to 2023 PGA Show

Mizuno, the Japanese equipment manufacturer has announced plans to exhibit at the 2023 PGA Show from January 24th to 27th in Orlando Florida. Following two years absence owing to the Covid pandemic, the manufacturer will return to the golf industry’s biggest trade event.

LIV Golf Brings World Class Field to Championship Courses in Arizona, Oklahoma, and West Virginia in 2023

Edel Golf Announces Expansion with Assembly and Headquarters Move to Denver

Edel Golf is announcing the opening of its new Headquarters, Assembly and Fitting Facility in Denver, Colorado. This move is part of a company expansion that will allow Edel to continue its growth worldwide.

The new Headquarters facility, located just North of downtown Denver, will give Edel more space to build out its assembly operations to react to the large growth over the past few years.
