Bridgestone APGA Collegiate Ranking Invitational Returns to The South Course at Firestone Country Club

The PGA TOUR’s Pathway to Progression player development program today announced the return of the Bridgestone APGA Collegiate Ranking Invitational, which provides a competitive opportunity to the top Bridgestone APGA Collegiate Rankings graduates over the past four seasons. A field of 17 is set to compete in the 36-hole tournament June 9 and 10 on the South Course at historic Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

“Since its creation five years ago, the Bridgestone APGA Collegiate Ranking has provided tremendous benefits and opportunities to collegiate golfers, and this event will bring together the top-ranked players from the program’s history at a prestigious golf course in Firestone,” said Kenyatta Ramsey, PGA TOUR Vice President, Player Development. “The PGA TOUR is grateful for our continued partnership with Bridgestone as we work collaboratively to develop golfers of diverse backgrounds at this unique event.”

Robert Trent Jones Society Announces Gary Player as Recipient of Annual Legacy Award

The Robert Trent Jones Society has announced that professional golfer Gary Player is the recipient of the fourth annual Legacy Award, in recognition of his lifetime contributions to the game of golf. Previous recipients of the award include Al Geiberger, Lee Trevino, and Hollis Stacy.

Player is recognized as golf’s premier international ambassador, having won golf’s Grand Slam with his U.S. Open win in 1965 at Bellerive in St. Louis, an RTJ Sr. original design and Society member. Player has more than 160 wins over seven decades and is also a highly successful golf course architect. He single-handedly ushered in an ethos of fitness to professional golf and has raised tens of millions of dollars for his charities, most notably cancer research and education for underprivileged youth.

USGA and Scioto Country Club Launch Championship Logo to Kick Off 2026 U.S. Senior Open

The United States Golf Association (USGA), in partnership with Scioto Country Club, in Columbus, Ohio, is proud to unveil the official logo for the 46th U.S. Senior Open Championship. This marks the third time this revered championship returns to Scioto Country Club. The 2026 U.S. Senior Open will be played the week of June 29 - July 5, 2026, continuing the legacy of the most coveted championship in senior golf.

Bob Jones and Jack Nicklaus, two legends of the game, are tied to Scioto Country Club. Jones won the U.S. Open, one of his nine USGA championships, at the club in 1926, while Nicklaus honed his game there with teaching professional Jack Grout. Dale Douglass claimed the 1986 Senior Open at Scioto in his first year of eligibility, while Gene Sauers posted a one-stroke victory over Billy Mayfair and Miguel Angel Jiménez in 2016 during the club’s centennial year. Bruce Fleisher edged Vinny Giles by one shot in the 1968 U.S. Amateur when it was a 72-hole, stroke-play championship.

Cherry Hills Names Pat Coyner Director of Instruction

TPC Craig Ranch Extends Partnership with PGA Tour

Invited, the worldwide leader in private clubs, and the City of McKinney have announced an extension with the PGA TOUR to host THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch through 2030. Following the completion of this year’s tournament, the club kicked off a $22 million reinvestment project aimed at overhauling the golf course at TPC Craig Ranch.

Titleist Introduces AVX and Tour Soft AIM 360 Golf Balls

Titleist introducesAVX and Tour Soft AIM 360 golf balls, featuring a new 360-degree marking designed to improve precision and accuracy in alignment. Black Desert Resort Named Top 100 Public Golf Courses in the U.S.

Black Desert Resort’s Tom Weiskopf and Phil Smith-designed golf course has been named  to Golf Digest’s newly posted “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” ranking and to Golfweek’s just released “Top 100 Best Courses You Can Play in the U.S.” ranking. Black Desert is number 35 on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses and number 34 on Golfweek’s prestigious “Top 100 Best Courses You Can Play in the U.S.” ranking.

Golfweek raters also ranked Black Desert the number one golf course in Utah in their “Best Courses You Can Play,” state-by-state rankings, while placing Black Desert number 96 on the publication’s “Top 200 Modern Courses” list. Maja Stark Claims 80th U.S. Women’s Open

Playing with the patience and precision reminiscent of another champion from Sweden, Maja Stark won the 80th U.S. Women’s Open Presented by Ally on Sunday when she mastered the demands of Erin Hills and the challenge of the No. 1 player in the world close behind. The 25-year-old closed with an even-par 72 for a 7-under-par total of 281, and a two-stroke margin of victory over Nelly Korda and Rio Takeda from Japan.

Mao Saigo, Hyejin Choi and Ruoning Yin were at 284 with qualifier Hailee Cooper and Hinako Shibuno at 285. Angel Yin, Linn Grant and 2018 U.S. Women’s Open champion Ariya Jutanugarn finished five back at 286.

Golf Channel to Present More than 10 Hours of Live Coverage of Final Qualifying for 2025 US Open on Golf’s Longest Day

GOLF Channel will surround “Golf’s Longest Day” Presented by Titleist with 10 hours of live coverage on Monday, June 2, as golfers compete at 10 sites across the United States and Canada in the hopes of qualifying for the upcoming 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club June 12-15.

Rich Lerner will serve as the primary host for GOLF Channel’s coverage of Golf’s Longest Day Presented by Titleist and Eamon Lynch will provide reports from Oakmont Country Club. Damon Hack and George Savaricas will be joined by Tripp Isenhour and Brendon de Jonge to provide commentary and analysis throughout the 10 hours of live coverage, which will air from 12-2 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. – midnight ET.
