Cobra KING MIM Black Wedge Review: 2020 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway DAY 8

On full and partial shots from the fairways, bunkers, and rough, the new Cobra KING MIM Wedges are a triple threat.  The versatile grind and spin control give you all the options you need to pull off pretty much any shot you can imagine.

I reviewed the KING MIM ONE wedges for you guys here and on twitter and Instagram this year, but you'll be receiving the standard length, new black finish KING MIM 56 degree in Day 8 of my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway.  I'll hit on a few performance impressions for you here again so you know exactly what to expect when you put this in play.

ONE Length irons and wedges have sorta been my thing with Cobra over the last few years, so I do want to mention a few things about ONE for those of you who already play one length, or might be considering it.

The first thing Cobra nailed with MIM ONE is trajectory and distance.  It can be a strange feeling playing a wedge that's longer than standard length wedges, but there's pretty much a flawless transition between ONE irons and ONE wedges.  Full swings felt powerful, but carried expected distances consistently.  MIM ONE shined in accuracy on pitches.  And chips stop quickly with excellent spin.

I'd expect the standard length MIM Black wedges (with the same progressive groove configuration) to perform similarly on pitches and chips.  Your wedge will have a classic grind, which has a narrower sole and higher bounce (12 degrees) for shot-making in soft, medium, and firm conditions.

As mentioned above, from the sand, rough, and fairway it was easy to dial on solid shots.  KING MIM are forgiving enough to help you on shots hit low or out towards toe if you don't strike it perfectly every time.  And yet still give better players the feedback on flight, spin, and ground interaction they desire.

KING MIM are also one of the softest feeling wedges I played all year.  If you're not familiar with MIM technology, basically Cobra heats the metal to higher temperatures than with forgings.  And this allows more consistent grain structure and less overall inconsistencies in everything about the head (shape, weight, feel bounce, literally everything).

From full swings into short par-3s, to low bump-and-runs and flop shots, the KING MIM wedges are extremely versatile and accurate.  One of the best wedges of the season for feel off the face.  Easy smooth cutting through sand and rough.  And fantastic check-up and soft landings on a variety of swings allowing you to be as aggressive as you want.

Remember you have three different ways to win the daily gifts in my giveaway this year.  On twitter just retweet my giveaway announcement and follow all; on Instagram like the post, Mention in Your Story, or Repost, and follow all; and here on my blog leave a comment in the section below in the daily review/giveaway/Letters from Santa articles.

These gifts are great prizes of course, but also some of the best equipment and gear in their class that I played and reviewed this season.  And I hope these mini reviews and recaps give you an idea of why I rate them so highly.

Merry Christmas all!
