Cuater Legend Golf Shoes Review

In just over one year since launching its first golf shoe line-up, Cuater, a sub-brand of TravisMathew, has become one of the most adulated brands in the culture of golf shoes.  And the Cuater Legend, with classic looks and subtle luxuries check off all the boxes you want in a premium pair of golf shoes.

Now and always for any golf shoes, comfort is king.  And Legend's comfort is unmistakable as soon as you tie the laces.  With one of the softest, supple, full-grain leathers of any shoes I’ve worn, Legend almost has a suede-like feel to it.

Brogue perforations give the Legend excellent breathability and stylish flair.  The leather is flexible for comfort but also sturdy feeling all around foot for great top and side foot stability.

There’s a firm cushion feel all around the foot, and around the ankles it feels particularly comfortable.  In the footbed it’s a very lightweight sensation, pleasant enough to almost rival even your everyday sneakers.  Above all else Legend are about extreme comfort.

I've worn the Legend numerous rounds now and have felt zero aches or discomfort anywhere.  Not in the soles, not in the toes, not in the heels or the arch.  No insufferable blisters, no sore muscles, no wasted time complaining about anything really.  Just incredibly comfortable every time out.  Legend are golf shoes that perfectly balance the right amounts of style, comfort, and performance.

These are a premium price at $249, but honestly I have no problem opening up wallet for this kind of comfort alone.  Paying for quality means you'll be wearing these shoes for years down the road instead of months.  And I know this firsthand because I also have a pair of Legend in black color since early 2020.

A quick word on fitting, Cuater site suggests going up a half size, but for me they were true to fit.  A snug fit but comfortably so.  And I didn’t once think these were tight or narrow feeling.

There’s also a clear shock absorption feel to the Legend.  Cuater calls it SweetSpot technology which is a foam midsole about 30-percent lighter than other mid soles in the market.  And they absolutely nailed it with this.  It's simply a marvelous blend of stability and support and incredibly lightweight.

The outsole is somewhat flexible, just enough to let your foot flex as you swing and walk,  but still firm enough to be stable without feeling stiff.  Legend are also waterproof with replaceable soft spikes and molded nobs for excellent traction.  In fact, traction could easily be the main story of these shoes right up there with comfort.

Finding golf shoes that give you the holy grail of comfort, stability, and traction can get tough to find.  But you get the complete performance package with Legend.

And for many these will be the sweetest feeling golf shoes in your arsenal.
