Mitsubishi picked up its 535th win on all major Tours since 2004 as Sepp Straka won The Honda Classic at the notoriously difficult PGA National Champion Course.
The Champion Course at PGA National was the third most difficult course on Tour during the 2020-21 season, and Straka left no doubt off the tee with a Kai'li 60 White in his driver. Straka led the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (1.261) and Driving Accuracy Percentage (84-percent).
Mitsubishi's first new shaft since 2015 (going back to the Tensei launch), the Kai'li White was released in late 2021 and has already won twice, at the Dunhill Championship and this weekend at The Honda. And that's what you call Tour validation friends.
Kai'li White is an extremely responsive shaft despite being low torque, and the increase in feel will make players immediately think of Mitsubishi's legendary Blue Board series even though Kai'li is lower spin and really not an addition to the Diamana line. Kai'li is essentially a low spin, low launch, and stable shaft with a softer feel than you'd expect from this kind of profile.
And speaking of Tensei and Diamana, Straka also used a Diamana DF 80 and Tensei CK 80 in his fairway woods for his first career Tour win. With 89 total wood shafts in play at The Honda over the weekend, Mitsubishi is once again coming out of the gates guns blazing.
