When I review particular equipment and gear you guys know these are products I've tested that ultimately stand out as special. And you already know how much I love my Motocaddy M7 Remote Electric Caddy. We have chats in DMs and in posts about everything I review and it's always incredibly gratifying to help you find new equipment and gear that works best for you.
And this guest review of the Motocaddy M7 Remote Electric Caddy by Nicola makes me smile ear to ear because she absolutely loves it. Nicola won the M7 in my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas - JINGLE BAM Giveaway and says it saves her "energy for each last swing on the course," and that she has "complete control over the caddy."
In her own words, here's what Nicola (@Golfgirlguru on twitter) thinks about her new Motocaddy M7 Remote Electric Caddy.
Hi there everyone!
I’m happy to say that after winning the Motocaddy M7 Remote from Santa Pappas at Christmas time, the snow has melted and I can finally tell you how much I LOVE this electric cart. First off, for anyone who is on the fence with buying it, picture yourself focusing on your golf game rather than struggling to push a heavy cart around the course. Then think about weather conditions and the summer heat wave…this cart is the answer to helping you feel like a pro and not get tired. On 90 degree days, my game would deteriorate by the last few holed and I struggled to finish the round. The M7 allows me to save my energy for each last swing on the course!
This cart is beyond durable! It is built to withstand large uphill inclines and severe declines. My husband and I play at a local course where on one of the holes there is massive hill you need to walk up (we call it a “mountain”) and the M7 handled it like a champ! Throughout my use of this cart, I have yet not encountered any time where I was worried that the cart would not be able to handle the conditions. The wide wheelbase and rear stability wheel are great for going up steep inclines, especially in places without cart paths. The wheels can be inverted for storage, but fit in the Motocaddy storage bag without issue. We can fit the Motocaddy and my husband's push cart side by side in the back of our SUV.
The remote on the M7 is amazing and easy to use. When I first started using it, I was always worried that I could potentially drive the cart into a water hazard, however, after using the remote and seeing the responsiveness of the buttons, I am not fearful of this happening. One pro tip - I avoid keeping the remote in my pocket during my golf swing to simply ensure that there is no chance the cart could become unlocked. One of my favorite parts about the cart is the LCD screen. This screen is easy to see during full sun light and gives you piece of mind that you always know the speed that it is going.
The speed control on the remote and on the push cart handles means I can accelerate to keep up with the group on a straight away stretch (or crossing a street!), or slow down for control traversing narrow bridges, creeks, and barrancas. The M7 does not have a follow mode, but the remote is easy to use and allows complete control over the caddy, which is a nice, comforting thought!
The battery can last two rounds, and we recommend charging it the night before and immediately after. The battery connects easily with a small charging cable. The remote has an easy USB charging connection but can also be charged from the Motocaddy itself. We opted to charge the remote separately to ensure we were not draining the M7 battery too much. On our shorter, local course, we might be able to get 2-3 rounds out of the battery.
Storage lovers may notice the lack of netting or storage pockets that many push carts have. This might be due to the single bar construction of the M7 and many other competitors in the motorized cart sector. The Motocaddy cart bag has huge, ample pockets for all of your needs and includes a beverage cooler pocket. The accessory package includes a beverage holder, umbrella holder, and a scorecard, pencil, and ball caddy.
You can also use the cart if the battery runs out. Simply click the button on the wheels to unlock them and slide them to the first rung on the axel. This allows them free movement without the motor. The caddy is a bit heavy to push in manual mode but is manageable. Charge and plan properly and you do not have to worry about this!
All in all, I highly recommend the Motocaddy M7 Remote and am beyond grateful to Santa Pete for giving me the most amazing Christmas present to review and share.
Love it Nicola! Thanks for a great and detailed review, and am pumped you love your new Motocaddy M7 Remote so much!
