Dormie Network Announces Brad Wilson as General Manager at Victoria National Golf Club

Officials at Dormie Network, a national network of private destination golf clubs has announced that Brad Wilson has been named General Manager of Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana. After starting at Victoria National Golf Club as the head golf professional 18 months ago, Wilson was elevated to assistant general manager earlier this year before being named as general manager.

Prior to joining the Victoria National Golf Club team, Wilson served in golf professional roles at a number of prestigious private golf clubs including Stone Eagle in Palm Desert, California, The Country Club of Indianapolis in Indiana, and most recently Sutton Bay in Agar, South Dakota.

“Brad’s approach to hospitality is exactly what we value at Dormie Network,” shared Mark Ruhga, Dormie Network Chief Operating Officer. “His mantra that ‘no’ isn’t in his vocabulary reflects his unwavering dedication to exceeding expectations. From day one of joining the team in early 2022, his focus on creating exceptional experiences and willingness to go above and beyond are exactly what we need to continue Victoria’s esteemed reputation. His leadership ensures that every interaction at Victoria National is not just a moment, but a memorable occasion.”

“I am extremely excited for this new opportunity,” Wilson said. “Victoria has an incredible history and a strong reputation in the industry as a destination for golfers of all backgrounds and playing ability. Victoria is well positioned for continued success moving forward, and I am proud to be a part of the team that is trusted to keep Victoria moving in a positive direction while maintaining its well-respected status throughout the golf industry.”

One member of the Victoria National Golf Club team who has been critical to the club’s success is Director of Agronomy Mike Nowicki. Since assuming this role in November 2022, Nowicki’s agronomical expertise has further elevated the golf experience for Dormie Network members.

“As a former assistant in training at Victoria National before taking on senior assistant, superintendent, and director of agronomy roles at other courses, I am thrilled that Mike is back as a part of this team,” Wilson said. “The knowledge, passion, and experience he brings to the role has been evident, as multiple members who have been here for decades have told me the quality of course conditions has never been better.”

Carved from an abandoned coal mine in 1998, Victoria National Golf Club was acquired by Dormie Network in 2018. This Tom Fazio design plays to a par of 72 and can stretch to 7,209 yards from the “Victorian” tees. The property includes a total of 68 beds spread across 15 luxurious and beautiful cottages, and the main cottage was recently upgraded with a refreshed living room and patio along with the installation of a Golden Tee machine. The on-course “Turtle Shack” comfort station was also renovated and upgraded this Spring.

Ranked #53 on Golf Digest’s 2023 list of Best Courses in America, and as the No. 1 course in Indiana, Victoria National Golf Club will also host the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Championship Oct. 5-8.
