61st U.S. Senior Women's Amateur: Meet the Quarterfinalists

The 61st U.S. Senior Women's Amateur quarterfinals begins tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. (MST) followed immediately by the semifinals at approximately 1:30 p.m. (MST).

The remaining eight players have experience ranging from 82 previous USGA championships to first-time competitor in the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur.  Here's a closer look at the quarterfinalists. 

Sarah Gallagher, 50, of Canton, Ga.

The 2018 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur was her first USGA championship in 25 years

Made match play at the 2019 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur at Forest Highlands in Flagstaff, Ariz., and advanced to the Round of 32 at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur at Berkeley Hall Club in Bluffton, S.C.

Competed in the 2023 U.S. Senior Women’s Open, turning 50 a week before the event and finishing T38

Won the inaugural Georgia Women’s Mid-Amateur in 2023 (72-73) at Country Club of Columbus

Is a sixth grade social studies teacher at Elkins Pointe Middle School

Has two teenage kids, a son (who plays golf) and a daughter

Shot 72-78 - 150 in stroke play to finish T7; tied for the best R1 score

R64: Def. Giuliana Colavito 3 and 1

R32: Def. Corey Weworski 1 up

R16: Def. Mary Ann Hayward 4 and 3

Nadene Gole, 55, Australia

Ranked No. 193 in WAGR, the highest ranked female senior amateur in the world 

Won four straight holes in her Round of 16 match to defeat past champion Judith Kyrinis in 19 holes

Finished second to Sue Wooster in the 2023 Arizona Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at Briarwood Country Club in Peoria, Ariz.

2023 wins include: Victorian Senior Amateur, South Australia Senior Amateur Championship, Queensland Senior Amateur Championship, NSW Senior Amateur Championship, New Zealand Senior Championship, Tasmanian Senior Amateur

Sarah LeBrun Ingram, 57, of Nashville, Tenn.

Won the U.S. Women’s Mid Amateur in 1991, 1993 and 1994

Runner-up in the 1993 U.S. Women’s Amateur

Member of the USA Curtis Cup team in 1992, 1994 and 1996

Captained the USA Curtis Cup Teams to victory in 2021 in Wales and in 2022 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa.

Inaugural LNGA Senior Amateur champion

Member of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and Duke Athletics Hall of Fame

Played for the Duke Blue Devils from 1985-88, earning All-ACC honors as a freshman and All-American distinctions her junior and senior years

Played as an amateur in eight U.S. Women’s Opens
