Club Champion Driver Fitting Review (Shenadoah, TX) - PGAPappas Winner Guest Review

"Promises Made.  Promises Kept."  This could be another motto for a Club Champion fitting in addition to their "Better Fit. Lower Scores" motto.  Because when you're fit by a Club Champion Master Fitter you're going to see absolute results.  And often times the results will be extraordinary like they were for the winner of my recent Club Champion Driver Fitting and Custom Built Driver Giveaway.

Jeff (@Jeff17Black) on X/Twitter was fit at the Shenandoah, TX studio and gained 10+ more carry yards (20+ more total yards) along with much better consistency and tighter dispersion.  Jeff called his experience "absolutely amazing," and says he "will definitely be going back for additional other equipment fittings in the future."

In his own words, here's what Jeff thought about his Club Champion driver fitting experience, and ultimately what driver wound up being best.

I was so excited to be selected for the Club Champion Driver Fitting during Pete’s 12 days of Christmas! After talking with the Kringle, we decided it was best to wait till after the PGA Show to get fit, this way all the new goodies would be ready to test.

After a couple easy emails with Club Champion, I was set up to be fit with Broc at the Shenandoah location here in The Woodlands/Houston, TX. Upon arrival Broc was ready to roll and get me a driver that would maximize my game and hopefully take it to the next level. Started out with a few iron shots then did a baseline with my driver.

Broc asked if there was specific driver head, I was wanting to try, and I wanted to try the Elyte Triple Diamond, but I also told him, I was up for anything.  Broc’s approach was finding the right shaft, then we will find the right head. We first tried the usual suspects, Venus TR Blue, Ventus TR Red, VA composites, and Tour Design. We started to really see that Ventus TR Red was getting the best launch and spin numbers. Next it was time to find a head.

We tried Elyte TD, TaylorMade QI35 CORE, Srixon, Titleist GT2 and the Cobra Adapt. Knowing I was looking for more forgiveness this time around, we steered clear of the lower spin heads. The few I hit would just fade right and put me out of play. After hitting all the heads with the shaft combo, we came away with the QI35 being the most consistent driver for me. Oh, and on average I gained 10 yards!

 

Final thoughts on the fitting. Going to open minded is a must. We may think we know best, but I will tell you, I was shocked when I thought I hit a heeled shot, it was more of a toe hit. So while I think I know a fair amount, Trackman laughed and said good try.  Also I was surprised to see my miss was a fade no matter the driver, it just was straighter with the QI35. And also, good to see a true swing speed. My ego took a hit for sure, but knowing the truth how far I hit the ball will really be helpful.

 

Working with Broc and Club Champion was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going back to them for additional other equipment fittings in the future. Service and knowledge were first class. Also got my new driver in less than a week!
